THE UNVEILING OF TRUTH

MESSAGE BY: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD

MEMORISE: ” But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”2 Corinthians 4:2

I. WHAT IS TRUTH?

Welcome to Wednesday, August 19, 2026. In a world flooded with shifting opinions, human philosophies, and deceptive ideologies, humanity continues to wrestle with the age-old question posed by Pontius Pilate: “What is truth?” The answer is not found in human logic or scientific speculation, but in the words of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself:
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”John 17:17
God’s Word is the ultimate, unalterable reality—it is truth (Aletheia). However, a vital distinction must be made: not everything quoted from the Scriptures is automatically applied as the Word in truth. For a scriptural application to be genuine truth, it must align seamlessly with the doctrine of Jesus Christ and the provisions of the New Testament Gospel!
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the progressive unfolding of divine truth. Outside of the Gospel, truth remains shrouded, veiled, and misunderstood. But within the light of the Gospel, divine truth is fully revealed, opened, and made crystal clear. Truth was largely hidden from past dispensations until Jesus Christ was manifested on earth. He is the complete unveiling of God’s plan, purpose, will, ideas, and eternal opinions!

II. PHANEROSIS: THE OUTWARD EXPRESSION OF TRUTH

In our opening memory verse, Apostle Paul uses a profound word when describing our responsibility toward the Gospel: “manifestation” (Greek: Phanerosis).
But by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”2 Corinthians 4:2
This is the exact same Greek word used in 1 Corinthians 12:7: “But the manifestation [Phanerosis] of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.”
The manifestation of the Holy Spirit refers to His visible, tangible, and outward expression in various spiritual gifts and demonstrations of power. In precisely the same way, the manifestation of the truth is the outward expression of God’s Word living in and working through you today!
For you to truly live for Jesus Christ, you must thoroughly know His Word. You cannot manifest what you do not know! When you imbibe the truth of God through dedicated study and meditation, that truth takes full possession of your mindset:
Shaping Viewpoints: Human traditions and cultural biases yield to divine revelation.
Governing Thoughts: Anxiety, fear, and doubt are replaced by the wisdom and authority of the Spirit.
Directing Actions: Your choices, reactions, and daily conduct become a living reflection of God’s character.

When God’s Word takes hold of your personality, you stop living on assumptions, guesswork, or worldviews. You become the living, walking manifestation of His Word!

III. WALKING IN THE TRUTH

God’s ultimate desire is not merely for you to quote scripture or talk about the truth; He wants you to live the truth as your everyday reality.
Apostle John highlighted the heavenly joy that comes when believers walk in spiritual reality:
“For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”3 John 1:3-4
Walking in the truth requires diligence and hunger for divine revelation. As Hosea 6:3 states: “Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD…” You must actively pursue the knowledge of God through the Scriptures, allowing the Holy Spirit to illuminate your spirit.
This is your royal calling in Christ: to know, embrace, and manifest the truth in absolute clarity, with unshakeable conviction, and with divine power. As you do, your life becomes a beacon of light, testifying to the reality, goodness, and glory of the Father!

IV. PRAYER & CONFESSION

Holy Father, I thank You from the depth of my heart for the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the complete unfolding and unveiling of Your eternal truth.
My mind is continuously renewed, and my understanding is enlightened by Your Holy Spirit. I walk in the full light and authority of Your Word today. I refuse to live by human assumptions, fear, or the opinions of men.
I am a living manifestation of Your truth! The Word of God controls my thoughts, governs my choices, and directs my path. Today, I express Your righteousness, wisdom, excellence, and glory to my world, in the precious Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

V. BIBLE TEXT & FURTHER STUDY

John 1:17 (KJV)

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
Spiritual Insight: The Mosaic Law provided rules, shadows, and types, but it could not grant the full reality or power to fulfill them. Grace and ultimate divine truth arrived fully realized through the person and ministry of Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:26-27 (KJV)

“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: [27] To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:”
Spiritual Insight: The great secret hidden throughout past ages is now openly revealed to the church: Christ indwells the believer! His living presence in your spirit is the absolute guarantee of manifesting His divine glory on earth.

3 John 1:3-4 (KJV)

“For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. [4] I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”

Spiritual Insight: True spiritual maturity is proved not merely by theological knowledge, but by daily conduct that aligns with the truth of God’s Word.

VI. BIBLE READING PLAN

1-Year Bible Reading Plan

1 Corinthians 4 & Psalms 113–116
1 Corinthians 4: Paul instructs believers to view apostles as humble servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries, noting that it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful. He cautions against judging human leaders before the Lord returns. Contrasting the self-satisfied attitude of the Corinthians with the suffering, persecution, and humility endured by the apostles, Paul admonishes them as a loving father, promising to visit them with spiritual power.

Psalms 113–116:
Psalm 113: Calls upon all servants of the Lord to praise His name, exalting God who sits on high yet humbles Himself to lift the poor from the dust.
Psalm 114: Celebrates Israel’s deliverance from Egypt, recounting how the Red Sea fled and the mountains skipped at the presence of the Lord.
Psalm 115: Declares “Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory,” contrasting the living God with powerless, man-made idols.
Psalm 116: A deeply personal psalm of thanksgiving for deliverance from death and severe affliction: “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”

2-Year Bible Reading Plan

Philippians 4:14–23 & Jeremiah 4
Philippians 4:14–23: Paul commends the Philippian church for their financial partnership in his ministry, describing their gifts as a sweet-smelling aroma and an acceptable sacrifice to God. He releases the famous promise: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” He concludes his letter with warm apostolic greetings from saints in Caesar’s household.
Jeremiah 4: God calls backslidden Israel to true repentance, commanding them to “break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.” The prophet warns of imminent judgment from the north (Babylon), lamenting the destruction that will overtake the land because of the nation’s unrepented wickedness.

VII. PROPHETIC DECREE

I decree and declare that on this Wednesday, August 19, 2026, the light of God’s truth shines brightly in your spirit, dispelling every trace of darkness, deception, and confusion!
You will no longer walk in uncertainty or human assumptions; the Word of God takes full possession of your mind, guiding your steps in wisdom, victory, and righteousness!
As you study and meditate on the Gospel, the Holy Spirit causes you to manifest (Phanerosis) the power, glory, and divine life of Jesus Christ in your health, career, and family!
You are a living epistle of Christ, walking in absolute authority and radiating His divine excellence to your world today, in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ! Amen! Hallelujah!
