GOD’S COVENANT OF PROTECTION

I. THE ILLUSION OF WORLDLY SECURITY VS. GOD’S COVENANT
Welcome to Wednesday, August 19, 2026. One of the fundamental cravings of every human spirit is the desire for safety and protection. Unfathomable numbers of people across the globe enter into dark, occultic covenants, seeking security from enemies, evil arrows, or untimely death. However, the enemy is a master deceiver: any promise of protection offered by darkness is a trap designed to enslave and ultimately destroy.
Absolute, impenetrable protection exists in only one place—within a covenant relationship with the Living God!
Consider the bold declarations of the Holy Spirit in the scriptures:
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” — Romans 8:31“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” — Romans 8:37
To be “more than a conqueror” means that the battle has already been decided in your favor before the enemy even makes a move! When you walk in covenant with the Most High, you do not need to live in fear or constantly fret over the plots of the wicked. God takes personal responsibility for your defense. Many times, divine intervention scatters hidden plots and neutralizes evil arrows long before you are even aware that an attack was launched against you.
II. TRIUMPH OVER DIABOLICAL THREATS: A PERSONAL TESTIMONY
Pastor Adeboye illustrates this covenant truth through a powerful, real-life account from his early years of faith:
“I ran away from my village after some people threatened that they were going to ‘eat me for breakfast,’ and for 13 years, I could not return. However, after I met the Lord Jesus Christ, I was able to visit my village, and I even attended a wedding where I saw many of the people who had threatened to kill me through diabolical means. I was much younger in the faith at the time, so I had a lot of zeal but not much wisdom. I was asked to preach at the wedding, and I delivered a powerful sermon that hit them hard with the word of God.
Some months later, those people went to the mother of the lady who got married and told her that it was her daughter’s wedding that provided a platform for me to insult them. They further said that they had been waiting for an opportunity for revenge, and the opportunity had presented itself now that her daughter was pregnant. They told her, ‘We will see if your daughter will give birth, unless we are not the ones in charge here on earth.’ The lady’s mother became frightened and came to me. I told her not to worry and assured her that on the day her daughter would give birth, all those who had threatened her would fall asleep. To the glory of God, things turned out exactly as I said; her daughter gave birth while those who threatened her were sleeping. The baby they swore would not be born is now a medical doctor.”
What a glorious testament to the power of God! When diabolical forces boasted of their domain on earth, the God of Heaven put them to sleep to prove that He alone holds absolute sovereign authority. Every decree issued against your life, family, or children by forces of darkness is rendered null and void under the canopy of God’s covenant!
III. THE WALL OF FIRE: STANDING UNMOVED IN PSALM 91
In Zechariah 2:5, the Lord declares: “For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.”
God does not merely build a physical wall around you; He becomes a living Wall of Fire around your person, your home, your family, and your endeavors! When any agent of darkness attempts to confront or cross that divine perimeter, they encounter the Consuming Fire (Hebrews 12:29), and the result is their total defeat.
This spiritual reality is further emphasized in our Bible reading from Psalm 91:1–16:
The Secret Place: When you make the Most High your dwelling place, you abide safely under the shadow of the Almighty.
Immunity to Fear: You are shielded from the terror by night, the arrow that flies by day, the pestilence in darkness, and destruction at noonday.
Exemption in Crisis: Though a thousand fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, harm will not come near your dwelling. You will only observe the reward of the wicked with your eyes.
Angelic Guard: God commissions His heavenly host to carry you in their hands, ensuring your foot does not strike a stone.
Therefore, refuse to yield to panic, intimidation, or fear! Regardless of the rumors, evil reports, or diabolical threats surrounding you, cry out to God in faith. He will arise as your refuge, fortress, and shield, granting you total deliverance and long life!
IV. TWELVE POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS
Pray these targeted prayer points with boldness, asserting your covenant right to divine protection:
1: Thanksgiving for Divine Defense: Heavenly Father, I thank You for being my refuge, my fortress, and my unshakeable shield against every force of darkness.
2: Activation of the Wall of Fire: Lord, let Your living Wall of Fire surround me, my family, my home, and my work today, in the mighty Name of Jesus.
3: Neutralizing Evil Decrees: Every diabolical threat, curse, or evil pronouncement issued against my destiny, be neutralized by the blood of Jesus!
4: Scattering Secret Gatherings: Father, let every dark gathering convened to plot against my life, health, or family be scattered by holy thunder, in Jesus’ Name.
5: Enforcing Divine Sleep on Oppressors: Lord, just as You put the enemies of that young mother to sleep, cause every stubborn pursuer of my destiny to be rendered helpless and inactive, in Jesus’ Name.
6: Shielding from Arrows of the Night and Day: I decree that no arrow of sickness, untimely death, terror, or failure flying by day or night shall prosper against my household!
7: Exemption from Pestilence and Plagues: Father, let Your covenant of exemption set me apart; when destruction sweeps across the land, it shall not come near my dwelling, in Jesus’ Name.
8: Commanding Angelic Protection: Lord, give Your angels charge over me today to keep me, protect me, and bear me up in all my ways, in Jesus’ Name.
9: Trampling Upon Spiritual Enemies: By the authority in the Name of Jesus, I tread upon serpents, scorpions, young lions, and dragons—nothing shall by any means hurt me!
10: Deliverance and Long Life: Heavenly Father, fulfill Your promise in Psalm 91 in my life; satisfy me with long life, deliver me in trouble, and show me Your salvation!
11: Protection over Generations: Lord, protect my children, my lineage, and my spiritual inheritance from every evil trap, preserving them for Your glory, in Jesus’ Name.
12: Personal Protection Requests: [Present your specific safety concerns, travel plans, or family needs to God, trusting in His covenant faithfulness.]

VIII. PROPHETIC DECREE
I decree and declare that on this Wednesday, August 19, 2026, you abide securely under the unshakeable shadow of the Almighty God!
Every evil trap, snare of the fowler, or diabolical plot targeted at your life, family, career, or health is dismantled right now by fire!
The Lord God Almighty stands around you as an impenetrable Wall of Fire! Those who gather to harm you will encounter the Consuming Fire and be completely scattered!
You will walk in divine immunity, stepping over obstacles and trampling upon every demonic assignment; fear is cast out, terror is broken, and long life with peace is your permanent portion, in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ! Amen! Hallelujah!
