GOD’S COVENANT OF PROSPERITY

I. THE SOURCE OF TRUE WEALTH vs. DEVILISH TRAPS
Welcome to Thursday, August 20, 2026. Scripture leaves no doubt regarding the absolute ownership of all material resources in the universe:
“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” — Psalm 24:1“The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.” — Haggai 2:8
When you enter into a covenant with the Owner of the universe, He grants you the divine capacity—the wisdom, favor, health, and spiritual power—to create wealth. And unlike the deceptive offerings of the world, God’s prosperity is pure: “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22).
In stark contrast, the devil frequently lures desperate individuals into evil covenants by promising quick riches. However, satanic wealth always comes with a deadly price tag, loaded with sorrow, fear, sickness, and ultimately, eternal destruction.
Pastor Adeboye shares a sobering real-life account illustrating this exact tragedy:
“I recall the story of a man who went to a herbalist and entered into a covenant with demonic forces so that he could become incredibly wealthy for seven years, after which he would die. He swallowed a charm the herbalist gave him, but he didn’t get rich; instead, he had a seven-year countdown to his death. A few days before the seven years expired, the man ran into the church and told us his story. We told him to give his life to Jesus Christ, and He would protect him. He agreed, and we prayed a simple prayer with him. Right there, in the presence of everyone in the church, he vomited what he had swallowed.
We rejoiced with him, and for a while after that, he attended church services regularly. After some time, however, he stopped coming, so we decided to conduct a follow-up. When we visited him, he said that the herbalist had told him he had swallowed the first charm incorrectly, so he gave him another one to swallow. Before long, he became wealthy. When the seven-year period stipulated by the covenant was close to expiring, he thought to himself, ‘The covenant is here in Nigeria. I will travel to London, and the demons won’t be able to reach me there.’ Unfortunately, he died on a plane as he flew to London.”
What a tragic reminder that Satan never gives anything for free! Demons are not bound by physical borders, oceans, or international flights. The only true escape and the only source of sorrow-free prosperity is total, unbroken allegiance to Jesus Christ.
II. THE CONDITIONS OF COVENANT PROSPERITY
Divine prosperity is not automatic; it is governed by spiritual laws. In our reading from Job 36:11-12, the Bible presents two distinct paths:
“If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.”
To enjoy the gains of God’s covenant, you must align with His financial kingdom principles:
Tithing (Malachi 3:10): Bringing the first tenth of your income to God’s house opens the windows of heaven, pours out overflowing blessings, and rebukes the devourer for your sake.
Firstfruits (Proverbs 3:9-10): Honoring God with the first and best of your increase guarantees that your barns will be filled with plenty and your presses will burst with new wine.
Sacrificial Giving and Kingdom Investment: God does not ask for your resources because He is broke—He owns all creation! He asks you to give so that He can have a legal basis to bless you abundantly and establish His covenant on earth.
When you consistently honor God with your resources, He takes personal responsibility for your financial wellbeing. You enter a realm where economic recessions, inflation, and market crashes lose their power over your life!

1: Thanksgiving for Divine Provision: Father, I thank You because You are the Owner of heaven and earth, and You have called me into Your covenant of prosperity.
2: Grace for Prompt Obedience: Lord, give me the willing heart and discipline to obey Your financial principles, including tithing and firstfruits, without hesitation.
3: Breaking Demonic Snares: Every evil snare or occultic trap designed to entice me with dirty wealth, be destroyed by the fire of the Holy Ghost!
4: Opening the Windows of Heaven: Heavenly Father, as I bring my tithes and offerings to Your house, open the windows of heaven over my career and business today!
5: Rebuking the Devourer: Lord, according to Your Word in Malachi 3:11, rebuke every financial devourer, strange loss, or medical emergency draining my finances, in Jesus’ Name.
6: Anointing for Wealth Creation: Father, release upon my spirit the power to get wealth—grant me innovative ideas, divine connections, and wisdom to excel.
7: Sorrow-Free Riches: I decree that the blessings of God upon my life shall bring peace, joy, health, and long life, free from any sorrow or demonic attachment!
8: Deliverance from Greed and Impatience: Lord, deliver my heart from the love of money, covetousness, and the desire for quick, unrighteous gain, in Jesus’ Name.
9: Becoming a Kingdom Financier: Father, prosper the work of my hands so that I can heavily fund the spread of the Gospel across the nations!
10: Exemption from Economic Crises: Lord, even in times of global economic famine, let my household flourish abundantly like Isaac in Gerar, in Jesus’ Name.
11: Grace to Honor God First: Father, help me to always put You first in my budget, honors, and financial increases, acknowledging You as my ultimate Provider.
12: Personal Financial Requests: [Present your specific financial burdens, debts, business goals, or employment needs to God, trusting His covenant promises.]

Scripture Reading Summary: Job 36:11-12
This passage highlights the conditional nature of divine fellowship and prosperity. Elihu explains to Job that those who choose to obey and serve God will enjoy a life marked by prolonged prosperity and daily pleasures. Conversely, those who choose disobedience will face ruin, falling by the sword and perishing due to their lack of spiritual understanding and refusal to align with God’s will.

Jeremiah 50: This extensive chapter contains God’s definitive prophecy concerning the doom of Babylon and the land of the Chaldeans. The Lord announces that Babylon will be captured, her idol Bel put to shame, and her military power destroyed by a great nation from the north. VII. PROPHETIC DECREE
I decree and declare that on this Thursday, August 20, 2026, the power to get wealth is activated in your spirit by the Holy Ghost!
Every ancestral curse of poverty, financial stagnation, debt, and laboring without result is shattered off your life forever by the blood of Jesus!
As you honor the Lord with your tithes, firstfruits, and offerings, the windows of heaven are opened over your career, business, and investments!
You will not seek dark alternatives, you will not compromise your faith, and you will not borrow; God is blessing you with sorrow-free riches that will cause your generation to celebrate His faithfulness, in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ! Amen! Hallelujah!
