RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DON’T TRY TO BECOME

MESSAGE BY: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD

MEMORISE: “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”Hebrews 10:14

I. THE PARADIGM SHIFT: FROM STRIVING TO BEING

Many sincere believers approach the Christian journey as a religious exercise of “becoming”—striving to slowly grow into righteousness, struggling to attain spiritual perfection, and working tirelessly toward a “glorious life” they believe lies somewhere in an uncertain future.

However, the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ presents a completely different, revolutionary reality!

In the Kingdom of God, you are not trying to become righteous; you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! You are not working towards an elusive state of spiritual perfection; you have been perfected forever by the sacrifice of Jesus. You are not begging God to grant you His divine life; you possess the eternal, uncreatable life of God right now in your spirit!

To walk in victory, you must realign your mind with divine truth. Amos 3:3 asks a fundamental question: “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”

You cannot walk in fellowship with God or experience His extraordinary glory while operating in a mindset of lack, deficiency, and continuous struggle. You must align your confession and thinking with what God has already declared concerning you!

Christianity is not a religious journey toward an uncertain, distant destination; it is the continuous revelation and manifestation of what has already been fully accomplished for you, in you, and through you in Christ Jesus.

The moment you were born again, you were not brought into a laboratory of trial and error; you were brought directly into the finished redemptive works of Christ!

As our memory verse emphatically declares:

“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”Hebrews 10:14

II. THE ANATOMY OF COMPLETENESS: CHRIST IS YOUR FULLNESS

The intense spiritual struggle that many Christians experience today stems from one singular error: trying to become what God has already made them.

When you do not know who you are or what has been freely gifted to you in Christ, you will spend your life begging for what already belongs to you!

Look at the absolute declaration made in 1 Corinthians 1:30:

“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:”1 Corinthians 1:30

Notice what the Spirit of God reveals through Paul:

God did not send Christ to teach you how to become righteous; Christ Himself is made unto you Righteousness!

God did not send Christ to give you step-by-step rules for holiness; Christ is made unto you Sanctification!

God did not send Christ to give you worldly advice; Christ is made unto you Wisdom!

Christ is your eternal Redemption—your absolute plucking out of darkness, sickness, poverty, and destruction!

Consider also the profound truth penned by the Apostle John in 1 John 3:2:

Beloved, now are we the sons of God…”1 John 3:2

Notice the word “now.” It does not say, “Beloved, in the sweet by-and-by, after years of struggling, we might eventually become sons of God.”

It says NOW! Right now, in your mortal body on this earth, you are an authentic, legally recognized, spirit-born child of God! You reign in life through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17), and the entire world belongs to you because you are a joint-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17).

III. OPERATING FROM FULLNESS: DWELLING IN DIVINE ACCEPTANCE

When this revelation saturates your human spirit, it fundamentally alters your approach to life, prayer, health, and daily challenges. You stop operating from a posture of fear, lack, or insecurity, and you step into the bold mentality of abundance, completeness, dominion, and supernatural power!

Stop struggling to make God accept you! You do not do good works so that God will accept you; you do good works because you are already accepted in the Beloved!

“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”Ephesians 1:6

When you understand that your acceptance is rooted in the perfected work of Christ rather than your human performance, your faith becomes remarkably bold, unshakable, and effective:

1: Certain Proclamations: You speak the Word with absolute certainty, knowing that Heaven backs your decree.

2: Fearless Action: You act on God’s promises without doubting, knowing that failure is impossible for a new creation.

3: Unshakable Assurance: You live with calm assurance because you know that all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21).

IV. ASSOCIATES OF THE GOD-KIND: EXPRESSING DIVINE NATURE

This is the glorious power of the Gospel: you are not trying to become anything; you are expressing what God has already made you! You are walking out the divine life He has placed within you.

Look at how the Apostle Peter describes your legal, spiritual status in 2 Peter 1:4:

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”2 Peter 1:4

The Greek word translated “partakers” in 2 Peter 1:4 is “Koinonos,” which means a comrade, partner, or associate! Through the new birth, God has made you an associate of the God-kind! You share the very same life, nature, righteousness, and glory that God possesses!

Furthermore, Apostle Paul affirms in Ephesians 1:3:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”Ephesians 1:3

And in Colossians 2:10, the Spirit declares with unyielding clarity:

“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:”Colossians 2:10

You are not lacking any spiritual ingredient! You are complete, whole, perfected, and heavily blessed in Christ Jesus! Live every single day with this high-level consciousness, and your daily life will continuously reflect the radiant glory, divine righteousness, and absolute dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ!

V. PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You from the depth of my heart for making me righteous, perfect, whole, and completely fulfilled in Christ Jesus. I reject every religious mindset of striving, begging, and lack. I walk today in the deep, unwavering consciousness of who I am in Christ—a joint-heir with Him and an associate of the God-kind! My life is an unending stream of divine blessings, supernatural victory, and health as I reign in life and manifest Your divine nature in every place, in the matchless Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

VI. FURTHER STUDY SUMMARY

2 Peter 1:4 (KJV): Peter reveals that God has granted believers exceeding great and precious promises so that through them, they become actual partakers and associates of the divine nature, having completely escaped the moral corruption and destruction that exists in the world through lust.

Ephesians 1:3 (KJV): Paul breaks into exuberant praise, blessing God the Father who has already blessed believers with every single spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 2:10 (KJV): Paul affirms the total fullness of the believer, declaring that we are complete in Christ, who stands as the supreme Head over every principality and authority in existence.

VII. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR SUMMARY: ROMANS 8:1–17 & PSALMS 68–69

Romans 8:1–17: Paul opens with the glorious declaration that there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk according to the Spirit. He explains that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set believers free from the law of sin and death. What the Law was powerless to do because of human weakness, God accomplished by sending His Son. Paul contrasts the mind set on the flesh (which is death and hostile to God) with the mind set on the Spirit (which is life and peace). He affirms that all who are led by the Spirit are sons of God, having received the Spirit of adoption whereby we cry “Abba, Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ.

Psalms 68–69:

Psalm 68: A triumphant procession hymn celebrating God arising to scatter His enemies, being a Father to the fatherless, and leading captives out of bondage. David recounts God’s march through the wilderness, His glorious ascension on high receiving gifts for men, and daily bearing our burdens as the God of salvation.

Psalm 69: A poignant messianic psalm of deep distress where David cries out from deep waters, describing his zeal for God’s house consuming him. He foretells the suffering of Christ—including being given gall for food and vinegar for thirst—before concluding with a joyous vow of praise that will please the Lord more than an ox or bullock.

VIII. BIBLE IN TWO YEAR SUMMARY: EPHESIANS 5:25–33 & ISAIAH 55

Ephesians 5:25–33: Paul presents the divine model for Christian marriage, commanding husbands to love their wives just as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her. He explains that Christ sacrificed Himself to sanctify and cleanse the Church with the washing of water by the Word, presenting her to Himself as a glorious Church without spot, wrinkle, or blemish. Paul asserts that a man who loves his wife loves himself, for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it just as Christ does the Church. He quotes Genesis regarding two becoming one flesh, revealing that marriage is a profound mystery illustrating the relationship between Christ and His Church.

Isaiah 55: A compassionate, universal invitation to all who thirst to come to the waters and buy wine and milk without money and without price. God urges humanity to listen diligently to Him, promising an everlasting covenant based on the sure mercies of David. He commands the wicked to forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts, assuring them that He will abundantly pardon. God contrasts human thinking with His sovereign ways: “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways.” He promises that His Word will never return to Him void, but will accomplish His purpose, resulting in joy, peace, and eternal renown.

I decree and declare that on this Tuesday, August 4, 2026, you completely step out of every struggle of trying to become, and step into the full manifestation of who you ALREADY ARE in Christ!

You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!

You are perfected forever!

You are complete in Him who is the head of all principality and power!

I decree that throughout this day and month, you walk with the bold consciousness of an associate of the God-kind!

Fear, sickness, failure, and limitation have no place in your body, career, family, or spirit!

You speak the Word with dynamic authority, you exercise your divine dominion, and your life continuously radiates the unsearchable glory and perfection of Christ, in the mighty and matchless Name of Jesus Christ! Amen! Hallelujah!
