 HIS AMAZING AND ALL-PROMOTING GRACE

MESSAGE BY: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD

MEMORISE: “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”Romans 5:17

I. PRESENT REALITY VS. FUTURE PROMISE: THE LAW OF REIGNING

When many Christians read Romans 5:17, they mistakenly treat it as a pie-in-the-sky promise reserved for when they get to Heaven. They view grace merely as a spiritual rescue line—something that pardons their mistakes and keeps them barely surviving until the end of their earthly journey.

However, Romans 5:17 is not a promise for the future; it is a present-hour reality!

Look closely at the language used by the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul: “they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life…”

Notice that the verse does not say you will reign in Heaven; it says you will reign in life—right here on earth, in your career, in your finances, in your physical health, in your family, and in your daily walk with God!

                                          |
                      +-------------------+-------------------+
                      | |
                      v v
[ THE REIGN OF DEATH ] [ THE REIGN OF GRACE ]
   - Activated by Adam's offense - Activated by receiving Christ
   - Characterized by fear & decay - Characterized by dominion & life
   - Trapped beneath circumstances - Positioned always above, never beneath

To reign means to exercise kingly authority. It means to operate in complete dominion, sitting in the driver’s seat of your circumstances rather than being a helpless victim of market trends, sicknesses, or atmospheric crises.

It means you are always on top, always above, and never beneath!

This aligns perfectly with God’s foundational promise to the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 28:13: “And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath…”

In Christ Jesus, through the activation of this amazing grace, that Old Testament promise transitions into your continuous, lived experience!

II. THE ALL-PROMOTING NATURE OF GRACE: NO ROOM FOR STAGNATION

To fully appreciate what has been made available to you, you must understand the operational dynamics of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace is not a passive legal term; it is the divine influence of God upon your human spirit, expressing itself outwardly in beauty, charm, favor, acceptability, elevation, and supernatural ability!

       [ CONTINUOUS ADVANCEMENT ] [ DOMINION OVER SIN ]
(Life is upward & forward only) (Supercedes the power of offense)

Whatever you are involved in—whether it is building a corporate enterprise, advancing your academic research, pastoring a local church, raising a family, or executing a public project—do it with this grace!

When the grace of God is conscious in your spirit and active in your mind:

1: Failure is Excluded: There is no structural capacity for failure in the life of someone who walks in the consciousness of grace.

2: Stagnation is Shattered: Grace is inherently all-promoting. It creates a trajectory that moves exclusively upward and forward!

3: Advancement is Continuous: Your life becomes an unending story of progress, expansion, and higher levels of efficiency. Every single day brings growth, divine visibility, and unprecedented victory!

You are not designed to take one step forward and two steps backward. When grace takes the helm of your life, downward trends are cancelled, and plateauing becomes a thing of the past!

III. SUPER-ABUNDANT GRACE: TRIUMPHING OVER SIN AND LIMITATION

The Spirit of God takes us deeper into the legal and spiritual superiority of grace in Romans 5:20:

Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.”Romans 5:20

Consider the astounding legal weight of this statement! The Holy Spirit reveals that no matter how pervasive, destructive, or entrenched sin and human failure may seem, the grace of God is vastly more powerful!

   [ LAW / OFFENSE ]  ===> Exposes human frailty ===> Sin abounds
                                     VS.
[ SUPER-ABUNDANT GRACE ] ===> Overpowers the legal grip of sin ===> Grace MUCH MORE abounds

In the original Greek text, the phrase translated “did much more abound” is superabounded (hyperperisseuo). It means that where sin reached a peak, grace flooded over the top in unimaginable, overwhelming abundance!

When the grace of God takes over your life:

  • Sin loses its dictatorial dominion over your actions and desires (Romans 6:14).

  • Guilt, condemnation, and spiritual inferiority are completely dismantled.

  • Grace elevates your thoughts, strengthens your inner man, and permanently establishes you in the boldness of divine righteousness!

IV. THE REIGN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS: ROMANS 5:21

The climax of this profound spiritual revelation is captured in Romans 5:21:

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”

[ THE GOVERNING SYSTEM OF THE NEW CREATION ]
Grace Reigns ===> Through Righteousness ===> Manifesting Eternal Life (*Zoe*)

Notice the divine administrative order established here: Grace reigns through righteousness!

Because you have received the gift of righteousness, you do not spend your days trying to earn God’s favor through human legalism or self-righteous efforts. Righteousness is your nature; it is your legal standing of guiltlessness and rightness before the Father.

Because you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21), grace has full authorization to govern your affairs!

It releases the full, unhindered expression of Eternal Life (Zoe)—the very life, vitality, and incorruptible nature of God—into your physical body, your mental faculties, and your daily environment.

You have been translated out of the domain of weakness and into a glorious realm where grace governs, righteousness prevails, and defeat is permanently outlawed! Hallelujah!

V. PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You from the depth of my spirit for the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness that I have received in Christ Jesus. I walk today in full consciousness of my divine dominion, ruling over circumstances, sickness, lack, and limitation. My life is an unbroken story of progress—upward and forward only! I manifest Your divine glory, Your excellence, and Your righteousness in everything I put my hands to do, in the matchless Name of Jesus. Amen.

VI. FURTHER STUDY SUMMARY

2 Corinthians 9:8 (KJV): Paul affirms that God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to believers in abundance, so that possessing total sufficiency in all things at all times, they may overflow into every good work.

James 4:6 (KJV): James reveals the dynamic of receiving divine grace, declaring that God gives more grace to the humble while actively resisting the proud and self-reliant.

1 Corinthians 15:10 (KJV): Paul attributes his vast labors, accomplishments, and apostolic impact entirely to divine enablement, testifying: “By the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

VII. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR SUMMARY: ROMANS 2:1–29 & PSALMS 38–41

Romans 2:1–29: Paul addresses those who judge others while practicing the same sins, warning that God’s judgment is impartial, based on truth and actual deeds rather than outward heritage or religious knowledge. He explains that God’s kindness is designed to lead people to repentance, while those who remain hard-hearted store up wrath for the day of God’s righteous judgment. Paul directly challenges Jewish pride in the Law and circumcision, pointing out that breaking the Law dishonors God before Gentiles. He concludes by defining true Jewry and circumcision: true circumcision is not an outward, physical mark, but a work of the Holy Spirit in the heart, whose praise comes from God and not from men.

Psalms 38–41:

  • Psalm 38: A penitential psalm of David crying out under the heavy weight of God’s rebuke and his own sin. He describes severe physical illness, mental anguish, and alienation from friends, but reaffirms his hope in the Lord for salvation.

  • Psalm 39: David reflects on the brevity and frailty of human life, acknowledging that every man at his best state is altogether vanity. He prays for God to forgive his transgressions and grant him relief before his earthly life ends.

  • Psalm 40: A triumphant psalm of thanksgiving where David praises God for lifting him out of a horrible pit and miry clay, setting his feet upon a rock, and putting a new song in his mouth. It includes a key messianic prophecy: “Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God.”

  • Psalm 41: David pronounces a blessing on those who consider the poor, promising divine deliverance in times of trouble. He prays for mercy amidst betrayal, prophetically referencing a close friend who ate his bread but lifted up his heel against him (fulfilled in Judas), ending with a doxology praising Jehovah from everlasting to everlasting.

VIII. BIBLE IN TWO YEAR SUMMARY: EPHESIANS 3:13–21 & ISAIAH 47

Ephesians 3:13–21: Paul encourages the Ephesian believers not to lose heart over his imprisonment on their behalf, viewing it as their glory. He bows his knees in a apostolic prayer to the Father, asking that believers be strengthened with power through His Spirit in their inner man, rooted and grounded in love, and empowered to comprehend the infinite breadth, length, depth, and height of Christ’s love. He prays that they be filled with all the fullness of God, concluding with a magnificent doxology: “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”

Isaiah 47: A severe prophetic judgment pronounced against Babylon, personified as a pampered virgin daughter who will be dragged down into the dust, stripped of her royal robes, and forced to labor as a slave. God declares vengeance upon her for showing no mercy to His exiled people and for her arrogant self-sufficiency, where she claimed: “I am, and none else beside me.” Despite her widespread sorceries, enchantments, and astrologers, Babylon is warned that sudden destruction will overtake her in a single day, and none of her astrologers or occult practitioners will be able to save her from the burning fire of God’s judgment.

IX. PROPHETIC DECREE

I decree and declare that on this Monday, July 27, 2026, the super-abundant, all-promoting grace of God is fully activated in your human spirit!

Every trace of stagnation, failure, and spiritual limitation is permanently dissolved by the power of the Holy Ghost!

You step out today in the full consciousness of your righteousness in Christ, reigning as a king over your finances, your health, your family, and your career!

I decree that your trajectory is upward and forward only—no backward steps, no plateauing, and no loss!

The grace of God goes ahead of you to open ancient doors, grant you unmerited favor before decision-makers, and cause everything you lay your hands upon to flourish exceedingly!

You walk in the fullness of Eternal Life (Zoe), manifesting God’s glory, excellence, and unstoppable dominion all the days of your life, in the all-conquering Name of Jesus Christ! Amen! Hallelujah!
