YOU’RE OF THE GOD-KIND: UNDERSTANDING YOUR GENETIC ORIGIN IN THE SPIRIT
MESSAGE BY: PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME
THE SCRIPTURAL ANCHOR: THE LIVING EPISTLE
“Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.” — (2 CORINTHIANS 3:3)
I. BEYOND MORALITY: THE ONTOLOGY OF CHRISTIANITY
In the year 2026, as the world searches for identity and purpose, the Spirit of God is bringing a profound revelation to the Church. As we have learned in our previous studies, Christianity is not a set of moral codes, a collection of religious rituals, or a social system designed to make bad people “good.”
Christianity is the manifestation of the divine life in a human person. It is a biological reality in the realm of the Spirit. You are not an ordinary being trying to be holy; you are a being of a different order altogether. The Bible boldly declares in Psalm 82:6 and is reaffirmed by the Master in John 10:34: “…Ye are gods…” This isn’t a metaphor; it is a description of your spiritual genealogy because you are born of God.
II. THE LAW OF REPRODUCTION: THE GOD-KIND
The physical universe operates on the law of “kind after kind.” Animals give birth to animals, and humans give birth to humans. This is a law of genetics and reproduction. If God gave birth to you through His Word, what does that make you?
1. The Incorruptible Seed
1 Peter 1:23 states: “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” In the natural, your physical life came from a corruptible biological seed—one that is subject to decay, sickness, and eventually, death. But when you were born again, the “DNA” that formed your spirit was the Word of God itself.
2. You Are the Word Expressed
If you are born of the Word, then in essence, you are the Word in human form. You are of the God-kind. This means you belong to the same class of being as the Creator. Just as Jesus was the “Logos” (the Word) made flesh, you are His Word expressed in contemporary human form—God’s living letter to a dying world.
III. THE LIVING EPISTLE: READ BY ALL MEN
The Apostle Paul, moving under the unction of the Spirit, wrote: “Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men” (2 Corinthians 3:2).
Think about the implications:
-
The Ink: Not physical ink, but the Spirit of the Living God.
-
The Tablet: Not stone or paper, but the “fleshy tables of the heart.”
You are a walking, breathing message from Heaven. When people look at you, they shouldn’t just see a “good person”; they should see a “God-person.” They should read the love, the power, and the wisdom of Christ through your actions and your character. You are the expression of Christ’s personality in your office, your home, and your community.
IV. LIVING IN HARMONY WITH YOUR NATURE
Since this is your true identity, it is vital that you live your life in harmony with His thoughts and His words.
1. Foreign Elements
In the same way that a human body rejects a foreign object, your spirit is designed to reject fear, discouragement, and human limitations. These things are foreign to the God-kind nature. Sickness is a foreign element in the body of a partaker of the Divine Nature.
2. The Transcendent Life
You are called to live the “Transcendent Life”—the life that rises above the systems and elements of this world. Exercise dominion over Satan and the forces of darkness. They are not your equals; they are under your feet.
Speak the Word: Your words have creative power.
Think the Word: Let your mind be renewed by the reality of who you are.
Live the Word: Let your choices be dictated by your spiritual origin rather than your physical environment.
V. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: NAVIGATING YOUR DIVINE IDENTITY
Q1: If I am of the ‘God-kind,’ why do I still feel weak or get sick sometimes?
Answer: Feeling is a function of the senses, but faith is a function of the spirit. Your body is still in a world governed by corruption, but your spirit is linked to the incorruptible. You must enforce the life of your spirit on your body by speaking the Word. You don’t “try” to be healed; you release the life of the God-kind from within you to swallow up the weakness in your flesh.
Q2: Does being ‘of the God-kind’ mean I am equal to God?
Answer: We are “associates” of the God-kind (2 Peter 1:4). While we are not God the Father or God the Son, we are “partakers of His nature.” Just as a child has the same nature as their father but is still the child, we share the life, quality, and class of our Father while remaining His children and servants.
Q3: How do I practically ‘manifest Christ’ to my world?
Answer: It begins with consciousness. Throughout your day, tell yourself: “I am a partaker of the Divine Nature.” This consciousness will affect how you respond to pressure. Instead of panicking like the “world-kind,” you will respond with the wisdom and peace of the “God-kind.”
VI. THE 2026 PROPHETIC CHALLENGE: THE ESCAPE FROM CORRUPTION
In this year 2026, the global systems are often characterized by “corruption through lust” (2 Peter 1:4). But as a partaker of the Divine Nature, you have been given “exceeding great and precious promises” so that you might escape that corruption.
-
You are not subject to the economic downturns of the world.
-
You are not subject to the plagues of the world.
-
You are a citizen of Zion living in the earth.
Manifest Christ to your world; that’s your calling, that’s your life. You have the DNA of victory.
CONFESSION
I am God’s living tabernacle, a partaker of the divine nature. I was born of the Word and I live by the Spirit. I refuse to acknowledge the limitations of the flesh or the fears of the world. I am an associate of the God-kind, a living epistle of Jesus Christ. I walk in the liberty and dominion of the Spirit, revealing the love, righteousness, and power of Christ in everything I do. Sickness, defeat, and lack have no place in me, for I am born of incorruptible seed! Hallelujah!
