RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL
MESSAGE BY: PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME
THE KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR IDENTITY: TAXONOMY OF THE NEW CREATION
SCRIPTURE: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” — (1 PETER 2:9)
I. THE GENETIC REVOLUTION OF THE SPIRIT
As we welcome this Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, the Holy Spirit is bringing us to a fundamental realization: your identity is not a social construct or a product of your biological lineage. When you were born again, a “taxonomical” shift occurred. In science, taxonomy is the branch of science concerned with classification. In Christ, you have been classified out of the “unregenerate man” and into the “God-kind.”
You are a chosen race. This is far beyond the statistics of human demographics. While the world looks at numbers—noting, for instance, that there are over 8 billion people on earth categorized into various ethnic groups—God looks at the “New Creation” as a single, distinct race. You have the organic and existential attributes of deity. You didn’t just join a religion; you received the life and nature of God. You are of a divine origin.
II. DISPLAYING THE PERFECTIONS OF DEITY
God did not create you just to survive or to “get by.” He created you as a billboard for His glory. According to our opening scripture, you were purchased to:
Set forth His wonderful deeds: You are the evidence of His power.
Display His virtues and perfections: You are the mirror of His character.
Manifest His excellence: Your life should be a standard of quality in the earth.
You are God’s righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). This means you are the “proof of His equity.” When people look at you, they should see how “right” God is. He called you out of darkness—the realm of ignorance, sin, and failure—into His marvelous light. In this light, there are no shadows and there is no lack.
III. THE BIBLE AS THE ALBUM OF THE NEW CREATION
It is dangerous to live without the knowledge of your identity. If you don’t know who you are, the world will tell you who you are, and they will always sell you short. The best way to know your true self is to study the Word of God—specifically the Epistles.
The Epistles (Romans through Jude) serve as the “Photo Album” of the New Creation.
-
When you look into the Word, you aren’t seeing a stranger; you are seeing the substance and character of your own human spirit.
-
You see that you are gracious, loving, and affectionate.
-
You see that you are royalty.
Just as a prince is trained in the palace to walk, talk, and think like a king, you must use the Word to train your consciousness. You are “God’s own handiwork” (Ephesians 2:10). You were “born anew” to walk in paths that were prearranged and made ready for you to live. Your success is a “prearranged” reality!
IV. THE BOLDNESS OF CONSCIOUSNESS
Knowledge is information, but “revelation” is when that information dawns on your spirit. When the revelation of your identity becomes your consciousness, your behavior changes.
-
Bold Speech: You no longer talk like a victim of circumstances. You speak from the position of a victor.
-
Confident Action: You walk with a “spring in your step” because you know who is backing you.
-
Unending Joy: Your happiness is no longer tied to the economy or the weather; it is tied to your heritage.
1 John 4:17 tells us, “As he is, so are we in this world.” This isn’t talking about when we get to heaven. Right now, in 2026, your spirit possesses the same quality of life that Jesus has. This knowledge gives you “boldness in the day of judgment”—not just the final judgment, but every day when “crises” try to judge your worth.
V. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: WALKING IN YOUR ROYAL IDENTITY
Q1: How do I handle people who call me ‘arrogant’ for claiming a divine identity?
Answer: There is a difference between “Pride” and “Boldness based on the Word.” Arrogance is thinking you are better than others based on your own efforts. Royalty in Christ is acknowledging what He did for you. It is actually a form of humility to agree with what God says about you, rather than agreeing with your feelings or the world’s opinions.
Q2: If I am ‘God’s workmanship,’ why do I still make mistakes?
Answer: Your spirit is perfect and recreated, but your mind is still being renewed. You are like a king who has lived in the jungle for twenty years; you have the royal blood, but you need to learn the royal manners. That is why we stay in the Word—to align our soul and body with the reality of our spirit.
Q3: What is the first thing I should do if I feel like I’ve lost my ‘royal’ consciousness?
Answer: Go back to the “Album.” Read 1 Peter 2:9 or Ephesians 2:10 out loud. Remind yourself: “I am a peculiar treasure. I am purchased. I am God’s handiwork.” Faith comes by hearing, and your spirit responds to the voice of the Word.
VI. THE 2026 MANDATE: THE EXCELLENCE OF THE NEW RACE
In this year 2026, the world is looking for solutions. They are looking for people who are “taxonomically different.”
-
When others are confused, you have the “Spirit of Wisdom.”
-
When others are fearful, you have “Perfect Love.”
-
When others are in lack, you are a “Dispenser of Riches.”
You are a Peculiar Person. The word “peculiar” means “distinctive” or “one-of-a-kind.” You are not meant to blend in; you are meant to stand out and “shew forth the praises” of the One who called you.
VII. REFLECTION & CONFESSION
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
If I am God’s workmanship, then I am a masterpiece. Does a masterpiece worry about its value, or does it simply exist for the glory of the Artist?
CONFESSION:
I am God’s peculiar treasure! I am holy, righteous, sanctified, and justified in Christ Jesus. I walk today and every day in 2026 in the full consciousness of my royal identity. I am taxonomically different from the world! I manifest the virtues, perfections, and excellence of Christ to my world. God’s Word is my life; therefore, triumph and unending joy are the hallmarks of my existence. I refuse to walk in darkness because I am a child of the Light. I walk in the full blessings of the Gospel of Christ! Amen.
