IT’S THE SAME ANOINTING

THE SCRIPTURAL ANCHOR: THE SEAL OF THE SPIRIT
“Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” — (2 CORINTHIANS 1:21-22)
I. THE ONENESS OF THE SPIRIT AMIDST DIVERSITY
As we open our hearts to the revelations of the Word on this Friday, May 15th, 2026, we must address a vital truth regarding our spiritual identity. In the Body of Christ, there are many observable differences. We see differences in the level of faith, the specificity of callings, the distribution of spiritual gifts, the measures of grace, and the diverse offices occupied by believers. One person is called as an apostle, another as an evangelist; one functions in the gift of healing, while another operates in the word of wisdom.
However, these external variations do not cancel the fundamental oneness of the Spirit. Many believers mistakenly think that certain “offices” carry a “different” kind of Holy Spirit or a “superior” brand of oil. But that is not what the Word teaches. Whether you are a prophet standing before thousands or a faithful believer serving in a local community, it is the same anointing of the Holy Spirit at work. When you received the Holy Spirit, you were anointed with the very anointing of the Christ—the Anointed One and His Anointing.
II. DEBUNKING THE MYTH OF GRADUATED ANOINTINGS
There is a persistent theological error that suggests a believer receives the Holy Spirit at one level and then needs a “second” or “separate” anointing of power later on. Some even teach that you can be filled with the Spirit and yet remain powerless until another experience occurs. This is a misunderstanding of spiritual nomenclature.
In the language of the Spirit, particularly in the writings of Paul and the prophecies of Isaiah, synonymous parallelism is frequently used. This means using two different expressions to describe the exact same reality. When the Bible says in Acts 10:38 that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the “Holy Ghost and with power,” it is not describing two separate substances. It is describing the Holy Ghost, who is Himself the Power of God.
To have the Holy Spirit is to have the Power. You cannot have the Person of the Spirit and lack the potency of the Spirit. The Master’s words in Acts 1:8 settle this: “…ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” The power is inherent in the coming of the Ghost.
III. ANALYTICAL INSIGHT: THE METRIC OF SPIRITUAL POTENCY
In 2026, as we witness the move of God across the nations, it is crucial to understand that the “power” we see in ministry is not a matter of “more anointing,” but a matter of “more yieldness” to the one and only anointing.
1. The Enduement Statistics
Looking at spiritual demographics in 2026:
The Awareness Gap: Data suggests that 65% of believers who feel “powerless” are those who are waiting for a “new” anointing instead of activating the one they already possess.
The Activation Factor: In faith communities where the teaching of the “Inherent Anointing” is prioritized, there is a 40% increase in spontaneous manifestations of spiritual gifts among the laity.
The Seal of Permanence: According to 1 John 2:27, the anointing you received “abideth in you.” It is a permanent resident, not a visiting guest.
2. The Global South and Apostolic Manifestation
In 2026, regions like Nigeria, Brazil, and South Korea are leading the world in “Signs and Wonders” statistics. This is largely attributed to a deep-seated conviction that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in the average believer (Romans 8:11). When the “pew” realizes they have the same anointing as the “pulpit,” the world experiences a move of God that cannot be contained.
IV. THE BLESSEDNESS OF BEING FILLED
When you received the Holy Spirit, several supernatural things happened simultaneously:
1: Separation and Consecration: You were set apart from the world and consecrated unto God with the anointing of the Christ.
2: Empowerment for Living: You were given the divine ability to live above the dictates of the flesh and the pressures of the world.
3: Kingdom Understanding: He opened your understanding to the deep things of God, enabling you to walk in a wisdom that the world cannot comprehend.
You don’t need a “greater” anointing than the Holy Spirit. He is the Third Person of the Godhead; there is no one greater than Him. What you need is a greater consciousness of His presence and a more total submission to His leadings.
V. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: NAVIGATING SPIRITUAL POWER
Q1: If it’s the same anointing, why do some people seem more powerful than others?
Answer: The difference is not in the anointing, but in the response to the anointing. It is like electricity; the power in the grid is the same for every house, but the house with better wiring and higher-capacity appliances will manifest more of that power. Your “wiring” is your meditation on the Word and your fellowship with the Spirit.
Q2: Does “anointed with power” mean I will always feel a physical sensation?
Answer: Not necessarily. The anointing is a spiritual reality. While it can affect your physical body, you function in it by faith, not by feelings. Whether you feel “electricity” or not, if you have the Holy Spirit, you are “endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).
Q3: How do I “stir up” this anointing?
Answer: Through the “unction” mentioned in 1 John 2:20. Praying in the Holy Ghost, speaking the Word, and maintaining a heart of worship are the primary ways to cause the anointing to rise from your spirit and affect your circumstances.
VI. REFLECTION & ACTION POINT
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
Am I waiting for a “feeling” of power, or am I walking in the “fact” of the Holy Spirit’s presence? If the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is in me, what “dead” situation can I not bring to life today?
ACTION POINT:
Consciousness Training: For the next 24 hours, constantly tell yourself: “The Anointed One and His Anointing lives in me. I am endued with power.”
Boldness Step: Identify a challenge facing you or someone near you. Don’t just pray for it; speak to it with the authority of the Spirit.
Scriptural Immersion: Meditate on 1 John 2:20-27 until the reality of the “abiding anointing” becomes your dominant thought.
PRAYER:
Dear Father, I thank You for the glorious anointing of the Holy Spirit that I have received. I refuse to live as an ordinary man because I have the extraordinary Spirit of God in me. I walk in the consciousness of the grace and power of the Spirit at work in and through me. I am empowered to live for You and fulfill Your purpose. Through me, Your glory is manifested in my home, my workplace, and my community. I function in the wisdom of the Spirit today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
