YOU CANNOT ESCAPE PROCESS AND SUCCEED: THE LAW OF SPIRITUAL FORMATION
SCRIPTURAL ANCHORS:

“Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.” — (PROVERBS 19:2)
I. THE ILLUSION OF THE SHORTCUT
As we progress through the first week of May 2026, the Holy Spirit is highlighting a dangerous trend in the contemporary Body of Christ: the quest for instant results without internal investment. In a digital age defined by “instant” gratifications, many believers have mistakenly tried to apply the same microwave logic to their spiritual journey. They seek the anointing without the altar; they want the crown without the cross; they desire the platform without the preparation.
However, the laws of the Kingdom are immutable. One of the most fundamental mistakes you can make is trying to escape the process that God has specifically designed for your growth. When the pressure of training becomes uncomfortable—when the furnace of discipline begins to heat up—the flesh instinctively looks for an exit. But you must understand that God does not remove the process simply because it is difficult. He did not remove the wilderness for Moses, nor the pit for Joseph, nor the cross for Jesus. His purpose in the process is not to destroy the person, but to destroy the “man of the flesh” so that the “man of the Spirit” can emerge.
II. DESTINY CANNOT REST ON A HOLLOW FOUNDATION
In the architecture of the Spirit, the height of your building is determined by the depth of your foundation. Destiny is heavy. The “Weight of Glory” and the responsibilities of a divine calling require a structural integrity that only comes through process.
1. The Cost of Avoidance
If a believer manages to avoid the process—perhaps through clever maneuvering or human connections—he may appear to move forward temporarily. He might even secure a title or a position. But the deficiency created by that avoidance will eventually reveal itself. You cannot build a skyscraper on a foundation designed for a bungalow. When the winds of responsibility and the storms of demonic opposition blow, the “shortcut” becomes a death trap. An incomplete foundation will always lead to a collapsed destiny.
2. The Danger of “Precocious” Promotion
Proverbs 19:2 warns that he who hastens with his feet “sinneth” or misses the mark. To move faster than the speed of your character is a recipe for disaster. Without the development that process provides, the weight of a calling becomes destructive rather than fruitful. Many have been destroyed by the very “success” they prayed for, simply because they weren’t processed enough to handle the ego, the resources, or the pressure that comes with the territory.
III. THE GEOGRAPHIC ESCAPE: NEW PLACE, OLD PROBLEM
A recurring theme in the lives of those who struggle with spiritual formation is the attempt to escape the process by changing environments. This is a primary tactic of the “unprocessed” soul. When a believer’s weaknesses are exposed in a particular church, a particular department, or under a particular leader, they feel exposed and uncomfortable.
Instead of saying, “Lord, use this exposure to heal me,” they say, “I am going to a place where I am better celebrated.” They move to a new environment where their history is unknown. In this new setting, their charisma might initially mask their character defects. They are quickly given positions of authority. On the surface, this looks like a “miracle” or “divine promotion.” In reality, it is a postponed test. The spiritual law remains: You will eventually face the same test at your new location, but with higher stakes. God does not design process to punish you; He designs it to develop you. If you run from the “Primary School” of character, you will eventually fail the “University” of destiny.
IV. THE MODEL OF THE MASTER: LEARNED OBEDIENCE
Even the Lord Jesus, the Son of God, was not exempt from this law. Hebrews 5:8 contains one of the most profound truths in the New Testament: “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.”
1. Why did Jesus need to “learn”?
As God, He knew all things. But as the “Son of Man,” He had to be processed through the human experience. He had to experience the discomfort of waiting, the pain of betrayal, and the pressure of the Garden of Gethsemane.
2. The Strength of Submission
Jesus did not resist the process of the Father. He submitted Himself to thirty years of obscurity, working as a carpenter, subject to earthly parents. That period was not “lost time”; it was “processing time.” The discomfort of His process was temporary, but the strength it produced has sustained the salvation of humanity for over two thousand years. If the Master needed process, how do you think you can succeed without it?
V. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: EMBRACING THE GRIND
Q1: How do I know if I am in a ‘divine process’ or just in a bad situation I should leave?
Answer: A divine process always points you toward the Word and character growth. If your situation is demanding that you develop patience, humility, and forgiveness, it is likely a process. If a situation is asking you to compromise your faith or your safety, that is not God’s process. However, most people want to leave God’s process simply because it “hurts” their pride.
Q2: I feel like I’ve been in the ‘waiting room’ for years. When does process end?
Answer: Process never truly ends; it only changes levels. David moved from the “Process of the Sheepfold” to the “Process of the Cave of Adullam” to the “Process of the Throne.” The goal is not to reach a place where you are no longer trained, but to become a person who loves the training.
Q3: Can God still use me if I’ve avoided process in the past?
Answer: Yes, but He will likely circle you back to the very lessons you skipped. God is interested in the quality of the vessel. He would rather take forty years to make a Moses than forty minutes to make a mushroom. Stop running and submit today.
VI. THE 2026 PROPHETIC CHALLENGE: THE INSTRUMENTS OF SHAPE
In May 2026, the world is full of “counterfeit leaders” who have bypassed process. But the Church must be different.
1: Embrace Correction: When your leader corrects you, don’t look for the exit door. Look for the lesson.
2: Value Instruction: Discipline is not an obstacle; it is an instrument.
3: Stay in the Furnace: The gold doesn’t get to tell the goldsmith when the fire is too hot. The goldsmith knows the temperature required to remove the dross.
Allow God to complete the work of formation within you. The discomfort is temporary, but the fruit is eternal.
VII. REFLECTION & ACTION POINT
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
Am I embracing the process God is using to shape me today, or am I looking for a “back door” out of my current responsibilities? Have I mistaken the “heat of training” for the “attack of the enemy”?
ACTION POINT:
1: The Submission Check: Identify one area of your life where you feel “squeezed” or pressured to grow. Explicitly tell God today: “I stay. I submit. I will not run.”
2: The History Audit: Reflect on a time you moved or quit because things got “difficult.” Ask the Holy Spirit: “Is there a lesson from that season I still haven’t learned?”
3: Humility Practice: Seek out correction this week. Ask a mentor or a spiritual authority: “Where do you see a lack of process in my life?”
PRAYER:
Father, I thank You for being the Great Potter. I acknowledge that my life is clay in Your hands. Lord, give me the humility and the patience to remain in the process You have designed for me. Deliver me from the spirit of haste and the temptation of shortcuts. I choose to stay in the furnace until my dross is consumed. Help me grow through every stage of training—the hidden years and the public trials—so I can fulfill my calling faithfully and stand before You approved, in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.
