MESSAGE BY: PASTOR E.A. ADEBOYE

BIBLE READING: MARK 5:35–43 (KJV)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 SAMUEL 1–3

HYMN: 11 – STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING

MEMORISE: “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” — (MARK 11:23)

I. THE ANATOMY OF SPIRITUAL JURISDICTION

Welcome to the first day of April 2026. As we continue our study on the “Word of Power,” we must transition from merely understanding that God’s Word is powerful to realizing that your word—when aligned with His—carries the same legal weight in the court of heaven.

In Mark 5:35–43, Jesus faced a situation that the world deemed “final.” Jairus’ daughter was not just sick; she was dead. The messengers from the house were logical: “Why troublest thou the Master any further?” In their minds, death was the boundary where power ended. But Jesus immediately introduced a new law: “Be not afraid, only believe.”

1. The Power of Command

When Jesus entered the room, He didn’t engage in a long negotiation with death. He took the damsel by the hand and issued a direct command: “Talitha cumi” (Damsel, I say unto thee, arise). The Word of Power does not request; it decrees. Straightway, the girl arose. Life was restored not by a medical procedure, but by the vibration of a Word backed by Divine Authority.

II. THE TESTIMONY OF THE “HOPELESS” ROOM

Years ago, I visited a parish abroad and noticed a familiar face was missing at the airport. I was told one of our pastors was dying in a hospital. I went there immediately and found him in a specific ward—a room the staff reserved for “hopeless” cases. In the natural, being moved to that room was a death sentence. The pastor had cancer, and the prognosis was bleak.

1. Beyond Sympathy to Authority

I didn’t go there to cry with him. Sympathy feels good, but it doesn’t heal cancer. I prayed a simple prayer of authority, commanding the spirit of death to take its hands off him. Because of the laws of that land regarding unsolicited prayer, I focused specifically on the pastor.

2. The Overflow Effect

Three days later, he was discharged, completely healed. But here is the “Word of Power” mystery: Every other person in that room was also discharged that day. When a King speaks, the atmosphere changes for everyone in proximity. If I had stayed home and merely “felt sorry” for him, I would have hindered a miracle that impacted an entire ward.

III. THE IDENTITY OF THE SPEAKER: KINGS AND PRIESTS

Why do your words carry weight? Revelation 1:6 says God has made us kings and priests. This is your 2026 identity.

  • Ecclesiastes 8:4 declares: “Where the word of a king is, there is power.”

When a king issues a decree, the entire resources of the kingdom move to back that word. When you, as a child of God, speak to a “mountain” (a debt, a disease, a stagnant career), you aren’t speaking as a beggar. You are speaking as an ambassador of the Sovereign Lord.

IV. THE POWER-KILLER: THE FREQUENCY OF DOUBT

If the Word is so powerful, why do some decrees fail? The answer is in our memory verse: “…and shall not doubt in his heart.”

Doubt is like “static” on a radio line; it interferes with the transmission of power. Doubt doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t believe God can do it; often, it’s the whispering fear that He won’t do it for you. To exercise the Word of Power, you must move from “hoping” to “knowing.”

V. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: SPEAKING TO YOUR MOUNTAINS

Q1: What exactly qualifies as a ‘mountain’ in my life?

Answer: A mountain is any obstacle that stands between you and God’s purpose for your life. It is anything that looks permanent, immovable, and intimidating. It could be a terminal diagnosis, a generational curse of poverty, or a legal battle that has lasted years.

Q2: Should I speak to the mountain once, or keep repeating it?

Answer: Jesus spoke to the fig tree once. However, in Mark 11:23, the Greek tense suggests a continuous action of believing. You speak the command, and then you continue to speak “faith words” until the physical reality aligns with your spiritual decree. If you speak to the mountain today and cry about it tomorrow, you have nullified your decree.

Q3: Does the ‘Word of Power’ work if I have hidden sin?

Answer: Authority is linked to submission. You can only command what you are not a slave to. In James 4:7, the instruction is to “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Your “resistance” (your word) only has power because of your “submission.” Keep your life aligned with God so your words stay “loaded” with His Spirit.

VI. PROPHETIC DECREE FOR APRIL 2026

As you enter this new month, refuse to be a silent victim. The world is full of “messengers of doom” who will tell you it is too late for your situation. Do what Jesus did—put the doubters out of the room and speak to the “damsel” of your dreams to arise!

THOUGHT TO PONDER:

What miracle am I currently hindering by staying silent in the face of a negative situation?

PRAYER POINTS:

For Spiritual Mouthpiece: Father, touch my tongue with Your coal of fire. Let my words carry the weight of Heaven from today.

For the Uprooting of Mountains: In the Name of Jesus, I speak to the mountain of [mention a specific challenge]—be thou removed and cast into the sea!

For Victory over Death: I command every ‘spirit of death’ hovering over my family, my health, and my business to take its hands off now!

For Consistency: Lord, help me to stand on Your promises without wavering. I refuse to be tossed by the storms of doubt.
