I. THE DAWN OF THE UNDEFEATABLE
Today, Sunday, April 5, 2026, we stand at the empty tomb. As the first light of the week began to break over the horizon in Jerusalem two thousand years ago, it wasn’t just a new day—it was a new Age.
Our Fire Scripture in Matthew 28 captures a moment of cosmic upheaval. While the world slept, the foundations of the earth were literally shaken. This was not a quiet, secret exit. It was a violent, divine eviction of death.
The Earthquake: A physical sign that the spiritual order had been overturned.
The Angelic Descent: The appearance of the angel was so terrifying that the elite Roman guards—men trained for battle—became “as dead men.”
The Rolled-Back Stone: Notice that the angel didn’t roll the stone away to let Jesus out; he rolled it away to let the women in. He wanted witnesses to the vacancy of death.
II. THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF CAPTIVITY
In the first sermon of the Church age, Apostle Peter made a staggering declaration in Acts 2:24. He stated that it was impossible for death to hold Jesus. Why was it impossible?
The Absence of Sin: Death has its legal “sting” in sin. Because Jesus was sinless, death had no legal “hook” to keep Him in the grave. The grave had swallowed a “meal” it could not digest.
The Sovereignty of Life: Jesus is not just a “living being”; He is Life Itself. How can you bury Life in a hole? You can put a candle out, but you cannot put the Sun out.
The Prophetic Word: God had promised that His Holy One would not see corruption (Psalm 16:10). The integrity of the Father’s Word made the Resurrection inevitable.

In 1874, Pastor Robert Lowry captured the essence of this morning in his classic hymn. He described the “mighty triumph o’er His foes.”
“He arose a Victor from the dark domain; And He lives forever; With His saints to reign!”
When Jesus stepped out of that grave, He wasn’t just “surviving.” He was “triumphing.” He stripped the “dark domain” of its keys. He turned the grave—once a destination of despair—into a transit lounge for glory. For the believer in 2026, the grave is no longer a prison; it is merely a dressing room where we change our mortal clothes for immortality.
IV. THE RESURRECTION POWER IN 2026: YOUR QUICKENING AGENT
The most critical truth for you today is this: The Resurrection is not just a past event; it is a current power.
Romans 8:11 tells us that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you.
Quickening your Mortal Body: This power is available to revitalize your health.
Quickening your Mind: It is available to bring creative life to your career or business.
Quickening your Dead Situations: Is there a “dead” dream? A “buried” marriage? A “stagnant” ministry? The power that rolled away the stone is available to roll away your stagnation.
The Resurrection Morning was a “Done Deal.” The Lamb has conquered. Every “seal” the enemy has placed on your progress is broken today!
V. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: NAVIGATING THE POWER OF THE EMPTY TOMB
Q1: Why did Jesus have to stay in the grave for three days?
Answer: In the Jewish tradition of that time, death was considered “absolute” and irreversible after the third day. By rising on the third day, Jesus proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that it wasn’t a “coma” or a “faint.” It was a total victory over absolute death.
Q2: How do I practically activate this ‘Resurrection Power’ in my daily struggles?
Answer: Through Identification. You must realize that when Jesus rose, you rose with Him. In your prayers, don’t just ask God to “help” you; command your situation to align with the Resurrection life. Say, “In the Name of the Risen Christ, I command this sickness to give way to Life!”
Q3: What is the significance of the angel ‘sitting on the stone’?
Answer: It was a posture of total mockery toward the enemy. The stone was meant to be a barrier, a seal of the Roman Empire, and a finality of death. By sitting on it, the angel was saying, “Is this all you’ve got?” It shows that the obstacles that seem “heavy” to you are just a “chair” for God’s messengers.
VI. REFLECTION & PROPHETIC PRAYER

If the grave could not hold the Head (Jesus), it cannot hold the Body (The Church). What “grave” is currently trying to hold you down?
PROPHETIC DECREE FOR EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 5, 2026:
I decree today that an “earthquake of deliverance” is hitting your household! Every stone that has been rolled against your destiny—be it a stone of debt, a stone of barrenness, or a stone of depression—I command it to be rolled away by the Angel of the Lord! Because He is Risen, you are rising! I decree that the “dark domain” has no more claim over your life. You are stepping out of the shadows into the marvelous light of victory!
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, I thank You because the grave is empty! I thank You for Your resurrection power that daily quickens me. I identify with Your victory today. I declare that I am no longer a slave to fear or the tyranny of death. Quicken my mortal body, revive my spirit, and let the world see Your life manifesting through me. I am a victor, just as You are! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
