THE SCATTERED KINGDOM

2025 EMPLOYING THE VICTORY OF THE SON
MEMORISE: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (Revelation 12:11).

[8]. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
INTRODUCTION: THE ABSOLUTE PURPOSE OF HIS MANIFESTATION
The Christian life is not merely about achieving personal morality or finding comfort; it is a life enlisted in the most decisive, eternal war ever waged—the war between the Kingdom of Light and the kingdom of darkness. Our assurance of victory in this conflict rests entirely on one single, undeniable truth found in 1 John 3:8: “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
Jesus Christ did not come to merely improve human existence or offer good ethical advice; He came to execute a decisive, military mission: the destruction of the devil’s works and the decimation of his kingdom.
This message is essential because many believers still fight spiritual battles from a defensive posture, believing they are battling a force equal to their own. But the truth is, the kingdom of darkness is already decimated and scattered. The captives are being rescued daily by the matchless power of Jesus. Our faith, therefore, is not a plea for victory, but an employment of a victory already won.
The fundamental work of the enemy is sin (1 John 3:8), which defiles, separates, and imprisons humanity. Christ’s manifestation—His life, death, resurrection, and ascension—was the strategic, total assault that reversed the effects of the Fall and rendered the works of the devil utterly useless. We must learn to employ this victory in order to subdue Satan and his works in our lives and in our world.
I. THE DIVINE MANDATE: DESTROYING THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL
The phrase “destroy the works of the devil” (Greek: luō) is profound. It means to loose, dissolve, unbind, or render useless. It signifies a complete legal and spiritual neutralization.
A. The Manifestation of the Son
Christ’s manifestation was the culmination of God’s plan to restore humanity. This manifestation was multifaceted, covering every possible legal and spiritual claim the enemy had over mankind:
1: The Incarnation: He came as a man, meeting the enemy on his own ground.
2: The Cross (Legal Victory): He disarmed principalities and powers, triumphing over them in it (Colossians 2:15). He paid the legal price for sin, nullifying the devil’s primary legal claim.
3: The Resurrection (Power Victory): He proved the authority of God’s life (Zoe) over death.
4: The Exaltation (Authority Victory): He ascended to the right hand of the Father, establishing His supreme rule over all things, making every enemy a footstool (Hebrews 10:12-13).
B. Total Damage to the Kingdom of Darkness
As Immanuel Omoobajesu emphasizes, the matchless power of Jesus has done total damage to the kingdom of darkness. The enemy is not just defeated; his entire operational structure is compromised.
The devil works through systems of oppression, deception, sickness, lack, and, primarily, sin. When Christ destroyed the root (sin), He destroyed the fruit (all those accompanying works).
Sin is Decimated: The power of sin to dominate the believer is broken (Romans 6:14).
Sickness is Annulled: Christ bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4-5).
Poverty is Reversed: Christ became poor, that we might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).
The ultimate picture of this victory is captured in Revelation 5:1ff, where Christ alone is worthy to open the seven seals and execute the judgment of God, thereby gaining perfect victory for us.
II. THE END-TIME COALITION AND CHRIST’S SUPERIORITY
The Bible does speak of a formidable coalition of forces of darkness in the end time, particularly through the coming of the Antichrist. This gang-up is designed to deceive and oppress humanity, seeking to dominate the earth and form a final, ultimate opposition against the King of kings.
A. The Vain Opposition
However, the Word assures us that no amount of gang-ups can dominate the force of Jesus Christ. The gathering of these forces is merely the final, desperate gasp of an already defeated enemy. The reason we do not fear the Antichrist or the great tribulation is because the victory of Christ is eternal and irreversible.
The forces of darkness are not gathering to fight an uncertain battle; they are gathering to fulfill their destiny of condemnation and eternal defeat. Christ has already scattered the forces working against mankind through His redemptive work. Every spiritual attack, every demonic strategy, and every worldly system is simply a reverberation of an original power structure that was shattered at Calvary and the empty tomb.
B. The Authority of the Believer
The primary implication of the scattered kingdom is the authority of the believer. The moment you accepted Christ, you were rescued from the kingdom of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of His dear Son (Colossians 1:13).
This transfer of citizenship is a transfer of authority. You no longer live under the devil’s jurisdiction. The power that raised Christ from the dead now lives in you (Ephesians 1:19-20). We are not beggars asking for power; we are employers of the ultimate power—the Resurrection Life.
III. THE THREE WEAPONS OF OVERCOMING (REVELATION 12:11)
The victory is won, but the daily battle must still be fought and won by the saints. Our memorized verse provides the infallible blueprint for the believer to practically employ the victory of Christ against the defeated enemy: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
This provides the three-part strategy for subduing Satan and his works.
A. The Power of the Blood of the Lamb (The Sacrifice)
The Blood of the Lamb is the foundation of our overcoming power. This represents the completed work of Christ on the cross—the legal payment, the substitutionary atonement, and the ultimate cleansing agent.
Access and Cleansing: The Blood gives us unrestricted access to God (Hebrews 10:19) and continuously cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).
Spiritual Protection: It serves as a spiritual covering, marking us as God’s redeemed property, just as the blood marked the doorposts in Egypt (Exodus 12).
Employing the Blood: We employ this victory by confessing the power of the Blood over our lives, our families, and our circumstances. When we declare, “I am washed by the Blood of Jesus,” we are declaring the legal finality of the enemy’s defeat. B. The Power of the Word of Our Testimony (The Confession)
The word of their testimony is the second, active weapon. It is not just about recounting what God has done in the past, but about confessing the present reality of Christ’s victory over your specific situation.
Confessing the Truth: If the works of the devil manifest as sickness, your testimony is, “By His stripes, I am healed!” If it manifests as lack, your testimony is, “My God shall supply all my need!”
The Power of Agreement: When our spoken word (our testimony) agrees with God’s written Word (the Bible), and is based on Christ’s finished work (the Blood), it becomes a powerful spiritual weapon. The devil cannot stand against the spoken, faith-filled confession of the victorious believer.
Subduing Satan: To subdue Satan means to force him into subjection. We do this by declaring the truth of the scattered kingdom and refusing to give ground to his lies.
C. The Power of Sacrificial Love (The Surrender)
The final weapon is perhaps the most profound: “and they did not love their lives to the death.” This speaks of total and unwavering surrender to Christ’s will.
Total Commitment: This is the willingness to sacrifice personal ambition, comfort, safety, and even life itself for the sake of the Gospel. It is the refusal to compromise truth, even under threat of persecution or death.
Spiritual Intimidation: When the devil sees a believer whose life is wholly committed to Christ—one who values the Kingdom more than their own existence—he loses his greatest leverage: the fear of death. A believer who does not love their life to the death is spiritually unintimidatable. This radical surrender seals the victory and silences the accuser.
IV. THE GRACE TO REMAIN AND PROSPER
The great work of employing the victory of the scattered kingdom requires grace. We are called to pray specifically for this enabling power: Pray for grace to remain in Jesus Christ to the end.
A. Remaining in Christ
Remaining in Christ (abiding) is the continuous source of our power and fruitfulness. Just as the branch draws life from the vine (John 15:5), we draw the destructive power against the devil’s works from our union with the Son of God.
Holiness: Remaining in Christ demands a daily commitment to holiness, ensuring we do not give the enemy a foothold through willful sin.
Obedience: Our obedience to the Word of God is the visible sign that we are submitting to the King and not the defeated enemy.
The Ministry of the Word: The Word of God is the source of growth and spiritual insight. Pray for the ministry of God’s word that comes to you through various anointed vessels, including seminaries and devotionals, which equip you to stand firm to the end.
B. The Assurance of Fruitfulness
The result of remaining in Christ and employing the victory is fruitfulness. We produce fruits and works of righteousness because the life of Christ is flowing through us. The greatest fruit is seeing captives rescued and transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the marvellous light of Christ (Colossians 1:13).
Every time a soul is saved, delivered, or healed, the victory of the scattered kingdom is made visible on earth. This should be our daily focus and passionate pursuit.
V. PRAYER AND INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT
Our victory is fought on two fronts: the personal and the corporate. The effectiveness of the Kingdom of God is sustained by the institutions and individuals committed to proclaiming the Word and training the next generation of conquerors.
It is vital to support and intercede for those institutions that train spiritual warriors: Pray for CAC Theological Seminary, Opa, Ile-Ife and its off Campuses, the Provost, the Coordinators and the staff as led by the Holy Spirit.
These training grounds are essential because they equip believers with the deep spiritual knowledge and integrity required to understand and employ the victory of Christ without compromise. When we support the institutions that preserve the truth of the scattered kingdom, we ensure that the next generation will also be equipped to overcome the enemy by the Blood, the Word of their testimony, and the courage of their surrender.
CONCLUSION: LIGive praise to God for the total victory over sin and Satan gained for us by Christ, His dear Son.

The message today is clear: the kingdom of darkness is not a challenge to be overcome, but an already scattered reality whose final destruction is guaranteed. Jesus, the Son of God, was manifested for the singular purpose of destroying the devil’s works, and that mission was perfectly accomplished.
Your daily life must reflect the reality of this total victory. Do not allow fear, sickness, lack, or accusation to paralyze you. Rise up today and use the weapons entrusted to you: the Blood of the Lamb, the Word of your testimony, and the absolute surrender of your life.
Acknowledge the total victory won by Christ, His dear Son, and live with the grace to remain in Him until the day you share in His eternal glory.
