TAKING CHARGE BY POWER: THE SECRET OF SUPERIOR AUTHORITY

DAILY BIBLE READING: 1 KINGS 2–4

SCRIPTURE: “Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?” — (JOB 36:22)

I. THE SPIRITUAL BACKBONE OF PHYSICAL AUTHORITY

As we gather on this second Sunday of March 2026, we must wake up to a fundamental reality of the universe: Spiritual power is the strength of physical authority. In the world we live in, nothing happens by mere accident. When you see an individual walking in unquestionable authority—be it in business, politics, or ministry—there is almost always a spiritual power supply backing that physical manifestation.

The world is not just a collection of atoms and molecules; it is a spiritual battlefield. To attempt to navigate life solely with your natural senses and physical strength is to invite frustration. Physical authority without spiritual power is like a high-end luxury car without an engine—it looks good on the outside, but it cannot move against the slightest resistance.

The Law of Encounter:

It has been confirmed that there are many powers in this world, but when two powers meet, the lesser power must bow to the superior. Your goal as a child of God is not to avoid the reality of power, but to ensure that the power you carry is the Supreme Power of the Almighty.

II. THE TESTIMONY OF SUPERIORITY: OIL VS. BULLETS

Consider the reality of spiritual fortification. Sometime ago, a military officer was sent on a high-stakes assignment to neutralize certain agents of evil—terrorists and bandits who had been terrorizing a region. During the heat of the battle, they encountered a “mysterious” situation. No matter how much they fired their weapons, the leader of the terrorist group kept advancing towards them, completely unharmed. The man had fortified himself with diabolic, occultic powers that made his body impenetrable to lead.

However, before their next engagement, the military officer sought spiritual reinforcement. He took a bottle of oil I had previously prayed over and anointed the arms and weapons of his men. The result? The very next gunshot was the last. The “impenetrable” leader was wasted instantly.

What happened? The anointing introduced a Superior Spiritual Power that overrode and nullified the Inferior Spiritual Power of the enemy. You cannot fight a man who is using a spiritual shield with only physical bullets. You must introduce a spiritual dimension to your warfare.

III. THE ELIJAH MODEL: PROPHETIC DOMINION

The Bible provides us with a rugged example of a man who took charge by power: Elijah the Tishbite. In the days of Ahab and Jezebel—the most wicked administration in the history of Israel—Elijah did not cower in fear. He was practically in charge of the nation.

Dominion over Nature: He declared by the instrumentality of the power of God that there would be no dew nor rain except by his word (1 Kings 17:1).

Dominion over Altars: On Mount Carmel, he challenged the 450 prophets of Baal. When he called on God, God answered by fire (1 Kings 18:24).

Elijah was in charge because he had a “current” of spiritual power running through his life. He didn’t argue with Jezebel; he simply operated from a frequency that she could not tap into.

IV. OVERCOMING FORCES OF LIMITATION AND LINEAGE

In today’s study, we focus on one primary way to take charge: Overcoming all the forces of the enemy.

According to Luke 10:19, Jesus said, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Notice that the Word says “all” the power of the enemy. This includes:

Ancestral Altars: Spirits that have held your family tree captive for decades.

Generational Limitations: Spells that say no one in your family can graduate, get married, or succeed.

Diabolic Charms: Wicked people who use “charms on their tongues” to subdue others.

The Case of the Accountant:

At the start of our ministry, I met a young man whose grandfather and father were witchdoctors. Because they refused to inherit the family’s occultic tradition, the evil spirits behind their ancestral altar placed a “lid” on their destinies. No one in that family had ever gone beyond secondary school. I prayed with him and imparted rugged spiritual power. Today, he is the first university graduate in his entire lineage, holding a BSc in Accounting. The Power of God simply broke the ceiling that the enemy had built.

V. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: ACQUIRING AND MAINTAINING POWER

Q1: How do I know if I am operating in “powerlessness”?

Answer: Powerlessness makes you a “cheap victim.” If you find yourself constantly quaking in fear before people, or if your life is defined by recurring patterns of failure that you cannot explain naturally, your spiritual battery is low. You are being subverted because your defense is down.

Q2: Can someone be a Christian and still be subdued by evil power?

Answer: Yes, if they are an “ignorant” Christian. As the quote says: “What you know of God determines what God can do with you.” If you do not know the power available to you or how to activate it, you will suffer the same fate as the unbeliever.

Q3: Is the Power of God meant for everyone?

Answer: It is meant for every child of God who is “desperate” for it. God does not waste power on the casual; He releases it to the hungry.

VI. REFLECTION & STRATEGIC PRAYER

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I currently in charge of my circumstances, or are my circumstances in charge of me? Am I a “force” to be reckoned with in my industry, or am I a victim of workplace “politics” which are often spiritual in nature?

ASSIGNMENTS:

Dwell in the Word: Spend time with God to acquire His Power. The Word of God is the “generator” of spiritual current.

Make Demands: Desperately ask God for a fresh release of His power upon your life.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:

I decree the release of fresh spiritual power on your life today! Every ancestral curse, generational limitation, or family covenant resisting your destiny is shattered now! I command every “lid” placed on your life by witchdoctors or terrorists to be lifted by fire! You are taking charge of your territory in the Name of Jesus Christ!

AMAZING FACT: While you seek power, remember the Koala! They sleep for 22 hours because of a low-energy diet. Don’t be a “spiritual koala”—don’t feed on the low-energy diet of worldly entertainment; feed on the high-energy diet of the Word!
