I. THE SIGNATURE OF ETERNITY

As we navigate this Thursday, April 9th, 2026, the Holy Spirit is shining a light on the durability of divine intervention. In a world characterized by “planned obsolescence”—where products are designed to break and emotions are fleeting—we serve a God whose works are anchored in eternity.

According to our memory verse in Ecclesiastes 3:14, the signature of a God-event is its permanence. When God heals, He doesn’t just patch up a wound; He restores the foundation. When God delivers, He doesn’t just open a door; He removes the shackles. The ultimate purpose of a permanent miracle is “that men should fear before him.” A miracle that disappears after a week might be credited to luck or a placebo effect, but a miracle that lasts decades can only be credited to the Living God.

II. THE 43-YEAR TESTIMONY: BEYOND THE MEDICAL VERDICT

I recall a testimony involving one of my spiritual sons who came from a very wealthy and influential family. Despite their riches, they faced a giant that money could not kill: cancer of the jawbone. This young man had access to the finest oncologists in Europe, but after exhaustive treatments, the medical experts reached their limit. They told his parents to take him back home to Nigeria because, by their calculations, he had only two weeks to live.

When they arrived at Redemption City, the sight was harrowing. His head was terribly swollen, and the cancer had made basic functions like eating nearly impossible. It took him over an hour just to finish a small bottle of soft drink. To be honest, when I saw him, my own faith was shaken. But I pulled myself together and prayed for him, as is the duty of a pastor.

God intervened. That wasn’t just a temporary reprieve; it was a total overhaul. That miracle took place 43 years ago. Today, that “dying boy” is a man, married with children, and living in perfect health. That is what we call a Permanent Miracle. I decree over you today: the testimony God is about to give you will not expire in Jesus’ name!

III. THE ANATOMY OF A LASTING CHANGE

When Jesus visits a man, He doesn’t just solve the symptoms; He settles the case. We see this pattern throughout the scriptures:

1. The Discarded Garment (Bartimaeus)

In Mark 10:46-52, when Blind Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing by, he did something significant: he threw away his garment. That garment was his “beggar’s license”—a symbol of his shame and his permanent state of blindness. By throwing it away before he could even see, he was declaring that his days of begging were over forever. He didn’t keep the garment “just in case” the miracle didn’t last. He embraced a permanent change.

2. The Invalid of Bethesda

Our Bible reading in John 5 tells of a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years. Think of the neurological and muscular atrophy that would occur in four decades of immobility. Yet, when Jesus said, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk,” the restoration was instantaneous and complete. He didn’t need physical therapy; he didn’t need a period of adjustment. He was made “whole.”

IV. THE LEAK IN THE BUCKET: WHY MIRACLES VANISH

If God’s works are meant to be forever, why do some people lose their miracles? Why do some people get healed at a crusade only to find the symptoms returning a month later?

The answer is found in John 5:14: “Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.”

1. The Relationship Between Sin and Sickness

While not every sickness is caused by a specific sin, sin creates a “legal breach” in your spiritual hedge. When you are delivered from the path of destruction but decide to jump back into the filth of sin, you are essentially inviting the “strongman” back into a house that has been swept and garnished.

2. The “Worse Thing”

Jesus warned that returning to sin could result in something “worse” than the original 38-year infirmity. When you toy with sin after a miracle, you are showing contempt for the blood that bought your freedom. Carelessness with your spiritual life is the fastest way to lose a precious gift from God.

V. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: PRESERVING YOUR TESTIMONY

Q1: If I feel symptoms returning after a prayer, does it mean the miracle wasn’t ‘permanent’?

Answer: Not necessarily. Often, the devil brings “lying vanities” (symptoms) to test your faith. If you believe the symptom over the Word, you “forsake your own mercy” (Jonah 2:8). You must stand your ground and declare that your miracle is permanent. However, if there is known sin in your life, you must repent to close the door.

Q2: How do I ‘flee sin’ effectively in a world full of temptation?

Answer: Fleeing sin is not just about willpower; it’s about a change of environment and appetite. Like Joshua in the tabernacle, you must stay in the presence of God. If you spend more time with the “Consuming Fire,” the “fire of lust” will have no fuel to burn in you.

Q3: Can a miracle be ‘restored’ if it was lost through sin?

Answer: Yes. Our God is the God of the second chance. If you have slipped back into the old ways and find your peace or health leaking away, return to Jesus wholeheartedly today. He is gracious to restore what the cankerworm has eaten.

VI. REFLECTION & PROPHETIC ALIGNMENT

THOUGHT TO PONDER:

Is there a “beggar’s garment” I am still holding onto? Am I toying with a “small sin” that could jeopardize my big miracle?

PROPHETIC DECREE FOR APRIL 9, 2026:

I decree today that the miracle God has started in your life shall be perfected! Every healing, every financial breakthrough, and every restored relationship is hereby sealed by the Blood of the Lamb! I command every “leaking bucket” in your spiritual life to be mended. Because you have chosen to walk in holiness, your testimony shall outlive you! You will not be a “one-day wonder”; you shall be a monument of God’s permanent power. No weapon of relapse or reversal shall prosper against you, in Jesus’ Name!

PRAYER POINTS:

For Permanence: Father, whatsoever You do in my life this month, let it be forever. Let there be no reversal.

For Purity: Lord, give me the grace to flee from every appearance of evil so that my hedge remains secure.

For Restoration: Father, if there is any miracle I have lost due to my own carelessness, please graciously restore me today.

For Manifestation: O Lord, let the “abundance of rain” fall upon my dry places and produce a harvest that remains.
