The Necessity of Fame: When the power of God is present, “fame” (impact and recognition) follows naturally. It is not for self-glory but for the glorification of the Father.
The Synagogue Custom: Jesus had a “custom” of worship. Power does not exempt you from the discipline of fellowship.
II. THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE ANNOINTING (LUKE 4:18-19)

III. THE PARADOX OF FAMILIARITY (LUKE 4:21-22)
The most chilling part of this narrative is the reaction of the townspeople. They “wondered at the gracious words,” yet their next question was: “Is not this Joseph’s son?”
The Danger of Familiarity:
