THE DIVINE INCARNATION SERIES: 2026
THE PROTOCOL OF THE HIGHER LIFE
MESSAGE BY: PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: MARK 4:1–20; LEVITICUS 15
FIRE SCRIPTURE: JOHN 16:13–15
MEMORY VERSE: “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (ROMANS 8:6)
I. THE CHRISTIAN DISTINCTIVE: SPIRITUAL MINDEDNESS VS. CARNALITY (ROMANS 8:6)
The hallmark of an extraordinary life in 2026 is not found in the acquisition of material wealth or social status, but in the quality of one’s fellowship with the Holy Spirit. In a world saturated with “earthly consciousness,” many believers find themselves trapped in the cycle of “carnal mindedness.” To be carnally minded is to be sense-ruled—to allow your five senses to dictate your reality, your peace, and your future.
However, the Bible declares that such a state is “death”—a separation from the vibrant, pulsating life of God. True Christianity is the life of the Spirit manifested through a human vessel. This manifestation is only possible through Continual Fellowship. It is the shift from being “earthly-occupied” to being “spiritually-minded,” which the Word guarantees results in “life and peace.”
The Survival Mandate of Perpetual Fellowship:
To Avoid Spiritual Suffocation: Without constant communion, the believer’s spirit withers under the weight of worldly considerations and natural contemplations.
To Navigate the Unknown: In these complex times, the Holy Spirit is your “Compass of Truth,” guiding you into all truth and showing you things to come (John 16:13).
To Maintain Divine Peace: When the mind is stayed on Him through fellowship, the “peace that passes all understanding” becomes your permanent residence.
II. THE ANATOMY OF COMMUNION: BEYOND TRANSACTIONAL PRAYER (2 CORINTHIANS 13:14)
To walk in the fullness of your calling, you must understand that fellowship (Greek: Koinonia) is not a religious duty; it is a “drinking together.” It is the communion of the Holy Ghost mentioned in 2 Corinthians 13:14.
What Fellowship IS NOT:
It is not a “Grocery List” Prayer: Approaching God only when you need a miracle or a financial breakthrough is a transactional relationship, not fellowship.
It is not a Sunday Event: You cannot survive on a “once-a-week” encounter. Fellowship must be as constant as your breathing.
It is not One-Way Communication: Christianity is not a monologue where you talk and God remains silent.
What Fellowship IS:
A Partnership: It is a joint-participation where you and the Spirit work together in every detail of your life.
Recognizing His Person: It is the daily acknowledgement that the Holy Spirit is a Person—He is in you, He is with you, and He loves you.
A Drinking Together: Just as the body requires water to function, your spirit requires the “living water” of the Spirit’s presence to thrive.
Communication: It is the “sweet flow” of thoughts, words, and desires between your spirit and His.
III. THE PROTOCOL FOR CONSTANT CONNECTION: THE TALKING GOD (1 THESSALONIANS 5:17)
From the beginning of time, God has revealed Himself as a Communicator. He spoke creation into existence, and He has never stopped talking. The protocol for a life of power in 2026 is learning to listen and talk back.
The “Pray Without Ceasing” Principle: This does not mean kneeling down 24 hours a day; it means maintaining an “open line” of communication. It is the ability to whisper “Thank You, Holy Spirit” in the middle of a board meeting or a grocery store. (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
The Meekness of Listening: Fellowship requires a quieted soul. You must learn to hush the noise of “worldly considerations” so you can hear the “still small voice” that guides you into all truth.
The Recognition of the Engrafted Word: God speaks primarily through His Word. When you meditate, you are in fellowship. The Word becomes the language of your communion.
Conscious Awareness: You must practice the presence of God. Remind yourself throughout the day: “The Spirit of Truth is in me. He is showing me things to come. He is my Advocate.”
IV. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: NAVIGATING LIFE IN THE SPIRIT (1 JOHN 1:3)
Q1: How do I distinguish between my own thoughts and the voice of the Spirit during fellowship?
Answer: The Holy Spirit’s voice is always in alignment with the Written Word. He is the “Spirit of Truth.” As you spend more time in the Word, your spirit becomes “attuned” to His frequency. Over time, His thoughts become your thoughts, and His desires become yours.
Q2: Can I lose my fellowship with the Spirit through carnality?
Answer: While the Holy Spirit will never leave a believer (John 14:16), carnal mindedness “muffles” your ability to hear Him. It creates a “death” in your experience of His power. To restore the flow, you must “lay apart all filthiness” and return to spiritual mindedness through repentance and meditation.
Q3: What does it mean that the Spirit “glorifies” Jesus in our fellowship?
Answer: According to John 16:14, the Holy Spirit’s mission is to make Jesus real to you. In true fellowship, you don’t just learn about Jesus; you know Him. The Spirit takes the things of Christ and reveals (manifests) them in your life.
V. REFLECTION & PRAYER SUITE
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: Fellowship is the umbilical cord of the Spirit; through it, the very life and nature of God are pumped into your existence.
PROPHETIC WORD: I decree that from this day forward, your ears are circumcised to hear the secrets of the Spirit! You shall no longer wander in the darkness of carnal considerations, but you shall walk in the brilliant light of divine guidance!
PRAYER POINTS:
The Purification Phase (Morning):
1: Carnality De-activation: Every earthly-consciousness and worldly consideration hindering my spiritual sight, be dissolved by the fire of the Holy Ghost! (Romans 8:6).
2: Spiritual Mindedness: Father, I yield my mind to You. I refuse to be sense-ruled. I choose to be Spirit-led in every decision I make today!
3: The Grace of Communion: Lord, let the grace of Jesus and the communion of the Holy Spirit be my conscious reality every hour of this day! (2 Corinthians 13:14).
The Empowerment Phase (Evening):
4: Divine Guidance: Spirit of Truth, I thank You for guiding me into all truth today. I receive the “showings” of things to come in my business, family, and ministry! (John 16:13).
5: Strengthening of the Inner Man: By my fellowship with You tonight, I am strengthened with might in my inner man. I am inspired to live the higher life!
6: Unceasing Prayer: I receive the grace to maintain a perpetual flow of love and communication between my spirit and Yours. My prayer life is upgraded!
7: The higher Life Manifestation: Thank You Father for the privilege of divine fellowship. I am walking in life and peace, fulfilling my purpose in Jesus’ Name!
FINAL THOUGHT: You were called into the fellowship of His Son. Don’t live like an orphan of the flesh; live as a partner of the Spirit. Keep the conversation going.
Stay in fellowship and walk in the Glory.
