DON’T SPEAK AGAINST GOD: THE LAW OF SPIRITUAL ALIGNMENT

MEMORY VERSE: “Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?” — (MALACHI 3:13)

I. THE SUBTLETY OF DEFIANCE: WHEN WORDS BECOME WALLS

As we progress into the first week of March 2026, we encounter a sobering revelation from the Prophet Malachi. In the opening scripture, God confronts His people with a startling accusation: “Your words have been stout against me.” To have “stout” words means to have hard, stubborn, or defiant speech. Yet, the most tragic part of this encounter is the people’s response: “What have we spoken so much against thee?” They were genuinely unaware. They didn’t realize that their everyday conversations, their complaints, and their expressions of doubt were actually acts of rebellion against the Almighty.

The Modern Mirror:

This phenomenon is rampant in the Church today. Many believers assume that “speaking against God” only means blatant blasphemy or shouting insults at the heavens. In reality, you speak against God whenever your words negate what He has said concerning your life. When you side with your symptoms over His promise of healing, or your bank statement over His promise of provision, you are taking a stand against Truth.

II. THE PRINCIPLE OF SYNCHRONIZED SPEECH

In the Kingdom of God, truth is not determined by what you feel or what you see; Truth is what God says (John 17:17). Therefore, any word you utter that contradicts the Word of God is, by definition, a lie—even if it seems “factually” true in the natural realm.

1. The Heritage of Health:

God has declared that divine health is your heritage. If you spend your time talking about “my flu,” “my migraine,” or “how sick I am,” you are speaking against God’s provision. You are validating the work of the adversary over the work of the Cross.

2. The Reality of Resources:

1 Corinthians 3:21 declares, “…All things are yours.” If you are a child of God, saying “I’m broke” is a stout word against God. It suggests that He is either incapable of providing or unfaithful to His promise. Instead, align your speech with the Word: “I have all the resources required for everything God has called me to do.”

3. The Sequencing of Faith:

Notice the divine sequence in Hebrews 13:5-6: “…for He [God] hath said… So that we may boldly say…” * He Said: The foundational premise.

So We May Boldly Say: The required response.

God speaks so that you have a “script” to follow. If He says, “I will never leave you,” He is looking for you to respond, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear!” He wants your mouth to be in sync with His.

III. THE POWER OF THE TONGUE: FRUIT AND LOOPHOLES

The Bible does not suggest that words are powerful; it states it as an absolute law. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue.

Establishing Reality:

When your words align with God’s Word, you establish His truth as the reality of your life. You are literally “ordering your conversation” so that God can show you His salvation (Psalm 50:23).

Closing the Loophole:

Conversely, when your words contradict the Word, you create a spiritual loophole—a legal entry point for the adversary. If God says you are protected, but you say, “I’m so afraid of what might happen,” you have essentially signed a “waiver” of your protection, allowing the enemy to act on your confession.

IV. COMPREHENSIVE Q&A: NAVIGATING THE LIFE OF FAITH

Q1: If I say I’m healthy when I feel pain, isn’t that lying or being “in denial”?

Answer: No. “Denial” is pretending the pain doesn’t exist. Faith” is acknowledging that while the pain exists, it is subject to a higher law—the Word of God. You aren’t denying the facts; you are denying the facts the right to control your future.

Q2: Why does it feel so “unusual” to speak this way?

Answer: Because you were raised in a world that operates on the “see-to-believe” principle. The Kingdom operates on the “speak-to-see” principle. It is a new language that requires practice.

Q3: How do I change a habit of negative speaking?

Answer: You must consciously “arrest” your thoughts. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says we have the same “spirit of faith”—we believe, and therefore we speak. If you want to change what you say, you must saturate your mind with the Word until you truly believe it.

V. REFLECTION & AFFIRMATION SUITE

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your words are the “rudder” of your life. If you steer against God’s Word, you will eventually hit the rocks.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR MARCH:

I decree that in this month of March, your mouth shall become an instrument of righteousness! Every stout word you have spoken in the past is cancelled by the Blood. From today, your confessions will create a canopy of glory over your home, your health, and your finances. You shall have whatsoever you say!

PRAYER:

Dear Father, thank You for opening my understanding to the power of my words. I repent of every time I have spoken in defiance of Your Truth. Today, I boldly declare that I am full of health, strength, and prosperity. I walk in victory because I speak in line with Your Word. I live above circumstances and function in the fullness of the blessings of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
