As it is written in 1 Samuel 15:22, “To obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” King David, a man who understood both the heights of power and the depths of failure, realized a staggering truth: God is not impressed by the slaughter of bulls if the heart of the offerer remains stony and arrogant. Religion says, “Perform for me.” Redemption says, “Yield to me.” A broken heart is the only vessel God promises never to reject.

To Eradicate Guilt: Like David, many are haunted by “bloodguiltiness”—not just physical murder, but the murder of reputations or the stifling of the Spirit’s voice. (Psalm 51:14).
