SCRIPTURE: “Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14)
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Refuse to live in sin; refuse to enjoy it.
I. THE NECESSITY OF BORDER CLEARANCE
Every significant journey in life requires meticulous preparation. Whether it is a wedding, a professional examination, or a relocation to another country, we understand that embarking on a destination without preparation leads to certain frustration. Proper preparation is the spiritual and mental scaffolding that prevents disappointment in the journey of life.
Consider the physical reality of international travel. If you attempt to travel to the United States without a valid visa, your journey will be cut short. Even if you somehow bypass the immigration officers at your local airport, the moment you touch down at the U.S. border post, you will be denied entry and summarily deported. The laws of the destination are indifferent to your excuses or the cost of your ticket.
In a similar vein, many people spend decades preparing for earthly milestones—they save for retirement, they study for degrees, they plan elaborate ceremonies—but they live as if they can enter Heaven by chance. Beloved, Heaven is not a destination for the “lucky”; it is a destination for the prepared. There is a spiritual “border pass” required to see the Lord, and that pass is inscribed with the word: Holiness.
II. THE ANATOMY OF A DEAD CONSCIENCE
To secure your place in eternity, you must live with a conscience that is alive, awake, and tender. The tragedy of our modern generation is the “searing” of the conscience. Many have reached a point where they no longer just “commit” sin; they enjoy it.
We live in a world where the devil has rebranded “wickedness” as “smartness.” Let us examine the granular details of these “mobile lies” that jeopardize eternal destiny:
1. Academic and Professional Fraud
There are people sitting in high offices today using certificates they did not earn. Some bought degrees, others used the credentials of relatives. They are “living a lie” every time they sign a document. God’s standard is clear: Heaven is not for those who build their lives on the foundation of a forged document.
2. The Deception of the Identity
We see a rising trend of “physical lies”—extra breasts, extra buttocks, and extreme cosmetic alterations designed to deceive. While the world calls it “enhancement,” when it is rooted in a desire to deceive a potential spouse, it becomes a spiritual trap. There are ladies who enter marriages without disclosing critical health histories, such as the removal of a womb. This is not “discretion”; it is a “wicked heart” that lacks the fear of God.
3. The Culture of “Finding” and “Keeping”
In many circles, picking up someone’s dropped money is called “luck.” No! If you know it doesn’t belong to you and you keep it, that is stealing. The devil has made the wrong appear so right that people no longer feel a twinge of remorse. If you are sent on an errand and you keep the change without the owner’s permission, calling it your “blessing,” you have actually invited a curse into your pocket.
4. Business Sharp Practices
There is a “re-bagging” culture where ten bags of cement are stretched into fifteen to maximize profit. This is fraud. It is the same spirit that drives contractors to use inferior materials for roads and buildings, leading to collapses and deaths. You cannot build an eternal mansion in Heaven on the foundation of fraud on earth.
III. THE PROFIT AND LOSS ACCOUNT OF THE SOUL
Some nations, including our own, suffer because leaders who cannot turn away from what is not theirs were elected into power. They embezzle the heritage of the poor, leaving nothing to pay the salaries of those earning a pittance. They gain the world, but they are headed for a hellish destination.
The question remains: “What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?” (Mark 8:36). Whatever God has not given you cannot truly add to you. If it is not yours, don’t struggle to have it by “crookery.” True prosperity is that which is added by God without the “sorrow” of a guilty conscience.
IV. CULTIVATING THE TENDER HEART
As we navigate 2026, the goal is to remain “alert.” Like a dolphin that sleeps with half its brain to stay wary of predators, the believer must stay alert to the “little foxes” that spoil the vine. Refuse to follow the majority. Just because “everyone is doing it” doesn’t make it right. The standard of God remains sure: without holiness, no man shall see the Lord.
ASSIGNMENTS
Sincere Self-Examination: Look into the mirror of the Word. If there is a lie you are currently living, repent today.
Restitution: If you have something that doesn’t belong to you, make plans to return it. Peace of conscience is more valuable than any stolen asset.
The Minority Stand: Refuse to follow the crowd to do evil. Be comfortable with being “different” for the sake of the Kingdom.
PRAYER
Lord, I surrender my life and my character to You. I refuse to live in sin and I refuse to find pleasure in it. Grant me a tender conscience. Help me to walk in uprightness and holiness so that at the end of this journey, I will see You face-to-face. I receive the grace to be honest in the small things and faithful in the big things, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

DAILY BIBLE READING: Genesis 26-30
QUOTE: “The fact that everyone is doing a wrong thing does not make it right. Despite what people do, the standard of God remains sure.” — Culled from THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTIANITY.
AMAZING FACT: Dolphins sleep with one half of their brain at a time to stay alert. As a believer, your spirit must stay alert even when the world is “asleep” in sin!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION: I release upon you the grace to live uprightly in this perverse world. You shall not miss your place in eternity in Jesus’ Name!
