WRAPPING UP THE AGES
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” (Matthew 24:14)
I. THE GOSPEL AS THE DIVINE ANTIDOTE
The world today is often described as a place of increasing darkness, systemic confusion, and moral decay. From economic instability to the prevalence of disease and social unrest, humanity is searching for answers in the wrong places. However, the message of Christ’s salvation is not merely a religious philosophy; it is God’s definitive answer to the darkness of this world. It is the only light capable of piercing the gloom that covers the nations.
Our opening verse in Matthew 24:14 reveals a profound truth about the timeline of human history. The “end” is not triggered by political shifts or environmental crises; it is linked to a specific spiritual milestone: the preaching of the Gospel as a witness to all nations. This means that the Church of Jesus Christ holds the “timer” for the ages. It is our responsibility to ensure that every soul hears and receives this message before the Lord’s return.
II. THE GENERATION OF THE WRAP-UP
You were not born in this era by accident. The Spirit of God wants you to realize that you are part of a generation specifically chosen to wrap up the ages. In the Relay Race of the Spirit, the baton has been passed through the centuries, and we are the “anchor leg.” We have the distinct honor and the weighty responsibility of finishing the work that began in the upper room.
The Lord did not design the timeline of history for us to be passive spectators. He designed it so that the Church should finish the work. This is not the time to sit back and watch others fulfill the Great Commission. Participation in the Gospel must be active, intentional, and multi-faceted:
- Intercessory Prayer: Birthing the move of the Spirit in closed nations through fervent prayer.
- Strategic Involvement: Utilizing modern technology, social media, and innovative platforms to spread the message.
- Financial Partnership: Recognizing that your wealth is a tool for the expansion of the Kingdom.
- Bold Witnessing: Refusing to be ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16).
III. EQUIPPED BY DIVINE SUFFICIENCY
One of the greatest deceptions of the enemy is to make you feel inadequate for the task. You might look at the vastness of the world and feel “insufficient.” But 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 corrects this: “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament….”
The Spirit of God has equipped you. He has moved you from the realm of human ability into the realm of divine capability. When Acts 1:8 declares, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you,” it uses the word dunamis—dynamic ability to cause changes. You are a witness not by your own eloquence, but by the power of the Spirit that resides in you. From your “Jerusalem” (your immediate family) to your “Samaria” (your city) and to the “uttermost part of the earth,” you are an able minister of life.
IV. THE URGENCY OF THE SPIRIT: ONE MEDIATOR
The mandate is clear because the stakes are high. God’s desire is for all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:5-6). There is a singular truth that the world must know: there is only one God, and one mediator between God and mankind—the man Christ Jesus.
He gave Himself as a ransom for all, but that ransom is only effective for those who hear and believe. He is the answer to every problem, the solution to the pain, the antidote to the decay, and the conqueror of disease. He is the Life-giver. 1 John 5:20 tells us that He has given us an understanding to know Him that is true. We are in Him that is true! This is the true God and eternal life.
As we begin this second day of 2026, let the urgency of the Spirit consume you. The King is coming soon, and we have a world to reach. Make the Gospel your primary focus, for it is the only thing that truly matters in this wrap-up generation.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank You for committing to me the glorious responsibility of the Gospel. I am conscious of my identity as a minister of reconciliation. I am empowered by Your Spirit to reach my world with the message of Christ’s love, power, and righteousness. I refuse to be silent or passive. Through me and my partnership with the Spirit, Your grace and truth are made known everywhere, prevailing in every nation and in the hearts of men, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
