THE FIGHT TO DISAPPOINT THE GATES OF HELL

INTRODUCTION: THE WORD VERSUS THE WORLD’S REPORT

Every life, at some point, faces a moment of devastating confrontation—the moment a trusted authority delivers a verdict that seems final, absolute, and overwhelming. It might come as a doctor’s diagnosis, a bank’s foreclosure notice, a lawyer’s separation decree, or a supervisor’s termination letter. These are the “death notes” of the natural world, reports written in the ink of earthly limitations, human science, and sometimes, satanic oppression.

The true test of Christian faith is not how we handle the good news, but how we react when we are confronted by the worst news. Do we crumple and accept the verdict, or do we stand tall and declare the superior, eternal, and non-negotiable Word of God?

The story of Pastor Dodie Osteen, the beloved mother of the Osteen ministry, provides a monumental answer. In 1981, she received the ultimate “death note” from highly trained medical professionals: liver cancer, with only a few weeks left to live. But instead of planning her funeral, Dodie Osteen made a strategic, spiritual decision that defied human logic: she decided to fight back with faith. Her victory, which spans over 40 years of cancer-free life since that sentence was passed, serves as a blazing testament that when God sends His Word, no destructive report from hell or earth can stand against it.

In this final quarter of 2025, concerning whatever challenge stands before you—be it sickness, debt, legal battle, or marital storm—it is time to follow this pattern. It is time to raise your shield of faith, declare the opposite, and utterly disappoint every gate of hell that has planned shame and defeat for your life and ministry.

I. THE CRISIS OF THE CONTRADICTORY REPORT

The enemy’s first attack is always to try and replace God’s Word with the world’s report. This is the oldest trick in the book, stretching back to the Garden of Eden: “Hath God said?”

A.The Authority of the Doctor’s Word

In the natural realm, a medical doctor’s word carries immense weight. It is based on science, expertise, diagnostic tools, and years of training. When Dodie Osteen was told, “You have only a few weeks to live,” that was a statement of fact within the confines of medical knowledge. Accepting this word is easy because it is backed by empirical evidence.

The spiritual trap, however, is to allow the fact to overpower the Truth. A doctor’s report is a fact about the body’s condition, but God’s Word is the Truth about the body’s ultimate destiny and redemption.

The Word is Irreversible: When God sends His Word, it must accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11). God’s Word cannot fail, unlike a human medication or a financial plan. Its success is guaranteed by the character of the Almighty.

The ultimate scripture to declare over any negative report is Isaiah 53:5: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

This verse is past tense. It is not a prediction; it is an accomplished historical and spiritual fact. When you declare this, you are not asking God to start healing you; you are telling the devil that the healing process was finished 2,000 years ago, and you are simply enforcing the results of Calvary upon your body, your finances, or your relationship.

Hold up that doctor’s report, lay your hand on that sick body, or look at that crippling debt, and declare the Word of God with authority. The name of Jesus is the authorization, and the Word of God is the instrument of execution.

IV. THE ANATOMY OF A FAITH FIGHT: PERSISTENCE AND DISAPPOINTMENT

Dodie Osteen’s victory did not happen in a day. The message explicitly notes the passage of time: WEEKS PASSED… THEN MONTHS… THEN YEARS. This highlights the necessity of persistence—the tenacity that refuses to release the promise until the manifestation arrives.

When you sing a victory song—a song of praise, thanks, or faith—you are declaring that your healing has been activated and that the outcome is already guaranteed in the spirit realm. This act of faith-filled worship is the highest form of spiritual offense, causing the enemy to flee and the chains to fall off.

V. PRACTICAL ACTIVATION: MAKING THE WORD YOUR SHIELD

How do you practically transform a scripture on a page into a spiritual shield that deflects the doctor’s death note?

A. Step 1: Identification and Personalization

You must move beyond general scripture reading to targeted spiritual prescriptions.

Identify the Challenge: Is it healing? Is it provision? Is it peace?

Declare this truth: “I JUMP OVER YOU!” You are leaping over that mountain of sickness or debt and stepping into your promised land of health and abundance. The victory is not around the corner; it is already present in the Word you hold and the Name you bear.

CONCLUSION: YOUR LIFE WILL DISAPPOINT HELL

The victory of Dodie Osteen is not an isolated miracle; it is a template for every believer facing an unfavorable diagnosis or an evil report. She took the written letter of God’s promise and activated the life-giving Spirit within it, and the result was the absolute disappointment of the grave.

The mandate for you today is clear: Refuse fear! Refuse doubt!

The devil’s agenda for your life is shame, stagnation, and sorrow. But your divine destiny, secured by the cross, is life, victory, and testimony. You have been given the Name above all names and the Word that cannot fail.

Therefore, stand firm. Fight the good fight of faith. Lay your hands on that situation, speak the opposite to the devil, and keep the Word flowing through your mouth and your heart. Whether the devil likes it or not, YOU WILL TESTIFY! Your life, your ministry, and your destiny will disappoint every gate of hell in this last quarter of 2025 and beyond.
